WILLIE DARREN CLOUDY
Willie Darren Cloudy, 60, of Center, Texas, died April 19, 2026, at his residence. Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  He was born to the late Willie Hulon Ruth and the late Bobbie Jean Pilot-Cloudy on October 30, 1965 in Center, Texas.  He was in the 1984 graduating class of Center High School.  Survivors include, Sons, Derrick Cloudy of Center, LaDarius Cloudy of Center; Brother, Donise Ruth (Wenda) Deceased; Sisters, Kathryn Cartwright (Billy), Debra Cloudy-Johnson (Bruce).

ROBERT I. HUGHES, JR.
Robert I. Hughes Jr., died April 28, 2026. Interment was in Short Cemetery, Shelby County.   He was born October 06, 1939.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.  Survivors include, Wife, Dr. Jane Todd; Brother, Mack C. Hughes; Son, Robert I. Hughes III; Daughter, Deanna C. Coats.

L. LOUIS GARRETT, JR.
L. Louis Garrett Jr., 63, died on February 14, 2026, in Flint, Michigan.  He was born on June 1, 1962, in Center, Texas, to the late L. Louis Garrett Sr. and Dorothy Mae Holman-Garrett.  He graduated with honors with the CHS class of 1980. A memorial service was held on March 28, 2026, in Flint, MI. The family will host a Memorial Remembrance Celebration in honor of L. Louis Garrett, II on June 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Pineywoods Outreach Center.  He was preceded in death by his Uncle L.W. Garrett (Mary Ruth), Aunt Alice Garrett, and his loving grandmother, Elvira Garrett-Williams.  Survivors include, Children, Catherine Gilmore of Dallas, Alexandria Garrett of Port St Lucie, FL; Special Aunt and Mother Figure, Mary Garrett (Howard) of Center; Siblings, Juanita Holman-Segura and Yolanda Holman of Beaumont, Arthur Holman of Dickinson, Chinta Garrett-Spikes (Danny) of Lufkin.

JERRY G. RUSSELL
Jerry G. Russell, 68, of Center, died April 26, 2026, in Center.  Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Timpson.  He was born May 19, 1957, in Longview, to David Russell and Weeda Flournoy Russell.  Preceded in death by his parents, David Russell and Weeda Flournoy Russell.  Survivors include, Wife, Charlene D. “Lisa” White of Center; Son, Kurt Russell of Longview; Brother, Larry Russell of Huntington; 3 stepchildren.

DONALD RAYMOND JOHNSON, SR.
Donald (Don) Raymond Johnson, Sr., 76, of Center, Texas, died April 28, 2026, in Center.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born on September 22, 1949, to Raymond Johnson and Joy Windham Johnson. He graduated from Center High School.  He was preceded in death by, Father, Raymond Johnson; Mother, Joy Windham Johnson Wells; Sisters, Pamela Johnson Barnett and Kathryn Johnson Hines.  Survivors include, Wife, Jennifer Johnson; Children, Donnie Johnson and wife Vicki, Randy Johnson and wife Crystal, Sonya Wilburn and husband Bradley; Brother, Ron Johnson and wife Marsha; Sisters, Shelia Gregston and husband Eugene, Cherie Hall and husband Wes; Brothers-in-law, Michael Spurlock and wife Shirley, Jeffrey Spurlock.

JOHN HEALEY
John Healey, 73, of Nacogdoches, Texas, died Friday, April 10, 2026.  He was born in Perth, New York, to Gervace and Jeanne Healey.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Mother-in-law, Beatrice Frederick; Father-in-law, Richard Frederick; Brothers, Michael, Greg, and Tim.  Survivors include, Wife, Tina Healey; Children, Michael Healey and wife Bronwyn of Ballston Spa, New York, Lindsay Montario and husband Mike of Nacogdoches, Katie Fritz and husband Joe of Amsterdam, New York; Brother, Rene Healey; Sister, Veronica Littero.
In accordance with John’s wishes, there will be no formal services. His ashes will be scattered in his “happy place,” along the Jessup River in the Adirondack Mountains. Because of his faith, and theirs, his family finds peace in knowing this is not goodbye, but simply “see you later"

 

 

 

LORETTA TOLAR
Loretta Beth Tolar, of Palestine, Texas, 77, died April 20, 2026.  She was born on January 12, 1949, in Center, Texas, to Zannie Lee Bussey and Glaython Esther Galbreath. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Son, Thomas Darren Bush.  Survivors include, Son, Kevin Bush and wife April of Palestine; Daughter, Jodi Bainum and husband Shane of Palestine; Sister, Janet Wagstaff of Elkhart;
