OBITUARIES
BEATRICE PARKER
    Beatrice Parker, 83, of Center died January 3, 2008 in Center.  Burial was in West Hamilton Cemetery.  Born August 29, 1924, in Center, she was the daughter of Homer and Mattie Wilburn Brown.  Ms. Parker was a Homemaker.  She was preceded in death by husband Raymond J. Parker; Parents, Homer and Mattie Brown; Brothers Roger Brown and Joe Brown; Sister, Versie Berry.  Survivors include, Daughter, Sherry L. Goodman of Bossier City, Louisiana; Son, Raymond G. Parker of Navarre, Florida; Brother, Howell of Grand Cain, Louisiana; Sisters, La Merle Madden of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Rose Mae Bowlin of Timpson.  Mangum Funeral Home.
JAMES DUKE SEGLER
    James Duke Segler, 87, of Joaquin died January 5, 2008, in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery.  Born January 18, 1920, in Center, he was the son of James Wiley Segler and Betty Ferdie Whatley Segler.  Survivors include Wife, Onetia Fay Segler of Joaquin; Son, Doug Segler of Seguin; Step-Daughter, Bee DeCordova of Austin; Step-Son, Francis S. Love, Jr. Whitesboro. 
JEFF SCARBOROUGH
    Jeff Scarborough, 87, of Huxley died January 4, 2008, in Shreveport.  Burial was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County.  Mr. Scarborough was born June 18, 1920, in Shelby County, he was the son of Tom and Treva McDonald Scarborough.  Mr. Scarborough was a WWII Veteran, having  Served in the US Airforce.  He was preceded in death by Parents, Tom and Treva Scarborough, 6 Brothers, and 6 Sisters.  Survivors include his wife, Ruth Metcalf Scarborough of Huxley; Sons, Larry Scarborough of Pasadena, Danny Scarborough of Huxley; Daughters, Deloris Sample of Quitman and Merylon Chandler of Huxley.  Mangum Funeral Home.
B. C. "BENNY" BUCKLEY
    B. C. Buckley, 93, of Huxley, died January 7, 2008 at his residence.  Burial was in Strong Cemetery.  Born April 22, 1914, in Shelby County, he was the son of A. H. Buckley and Ida Miller Buckley.  Mr. Buckley was a member of Madison Masonic Lodge #126 in Orange.  He was preceded in death by Wife, Marjorie Buckley; Son, Benny Lee Buckley; Brother, Johnny Buckley.  Survivors include, Sons, Royce Buckley of Huxley, Larry Buckley of Bridge City.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
DOROTHY BLACK
    Dorothy Black, 84, of Joaquin died January 8, 2008, in Lufkin.  Burial was in Jackson Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born May 24, 1923, in Ozark, Alabama.  Ms. Black was a Homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her parents and Husband, James Howard Black.  Survivors include Sons, Claude McIntosh of Joaquin, Joe Black of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Bobby Black of Joaquin and John Black of Joaquin; Sister, Sally Cornell of Oakridge, Tennessee; Brother, John Buston of Springfield, Tennessee.  Mangum Funeral Home.
EVA MARIE EDWARDS
     Eva Marie Edwards, 82, of Joaquin died January 9, 2007, in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Joaquin Cemetery.  Born March 10, 1925, in Paxton, she was the daughter of George Solomon Hutto and Rosa Bates Hutto.  Survivors include Brother, Jim Hutto of Joaquin; Sister, Helen Carter of Paxton.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
DIAMOND BOWLIN
     Diamond Bowlin, 90, of Timpson died January 7, 2008, in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Timpson Missionary Baptist Cemetery.  Born, in Gary, she was the daughter of A. J. and Bertie Jones.  Ms. Bowlin was preceded in death by Husband, Lovell Dan Bowlin; Sisters, Dorothy Hudson and Marie Baird; Brothers, Johnny, A. J. and Billy Jones.  Surivords include Daughters, Lovell Joyce Harvey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Diane Bowlin Tolmachoff of Silsbee; Son, Jeffrey Lynn Bowlin of Dallas; Brother, Jimmy Jones of Odessa; Sister, Virginia Ann barker of Godley.  Taylor Funeral Home.
