  James HOGAN & Ruth POWELL were united in marriage on March 7, 1953 in Shelby County TX.
Their children will be honoring them with a surprise 50TH anniversary party on March 15, 2003 in Conroe, TX.   For more information please call Jane Keppler in Austin at 512-528-9132  or Grace Forsyth in Center at 936-598-2612.  We would like to invite all of our families especially the HOGAN, POWELL, BATES, BRIDGES, RAGAN, MCKENZIE.

Obituaries
DORIS NADINE GREEN HOLCOMBE
   Doris Holcombe, 72, of Hearne, died January 13, 2002, in Bryan.  Burial was in Ramah Cemetery.  Born September 8, 1930, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Edward and Alma Whitson Green.   Survivors include son, Robert Miller of Franklin; daughter, Sherilyn Frazier of Houston; brothers, Dalton Green of Nederland and D.J. Green of Statesville, North Carolina; sisters, Mable Oetjens of Gladwater, Avis Rich of Dallas, Mattie Mary Prewitt of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Velma Rholes of Mineola and Mildred pack of Wolfe City.   Mangum Funeral Home.
LT. COL. JOHN TYSON
   Lt. Col. John Tyson, 83, of Timpson, died January 8, 2003 in Nacogdoches.   Burial was in Blair Cemetery.  Born August 28, 1919, in Shelby County, he was the son of Austin and Ercell Sapp Tyson.   Lt. Tyson was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Ercell Tyson; sister, Marion Harris.  Survivors include his wife Ruth Patton Tyson of Timpson; son, John Tyson of New Mexico; daughter, Barbara Bigby of Richardson.  Taylor Funeral Home.
ELSIE LEE FOUNTAIN
   Elsie Lee Fountain, 72, of Center died January 16, 2003 in Center.   Burial was in Oaklawm Memorial Park. Born February 20, 1930, in San Augustine, he was the son of Elsie Lee and Gladys Cupit Fountain, Sr.  Mr. Fountain is survived by daughter, Gladys O'Rear of Huxley; brothers, N.D. Fountain of Nacogdoches, and Maurice Fountain of Etoile; sisters, Irene Marble of Buna, Sylvia Laird of Kountz and Lynda Hollis of Orange.  Mangum Funeral Home.
S.B. MCSWAIN, JR.
   S.B. McSwain Jr., 75, of Center died January 15, 2003 in Center.  Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery.  Born May 29, 1927, he was the son of S.B. McSwain, Sr. and Stella Holt McSwain.  Mr. McSwain was preceded in death by his parents S.B. McSwain and Stell Holt McSwain; brothers, Eugene McSwain and Jesse McSwain; sisters Lera Bittner, Lynn Warr and Lorena LaFitte.  He is survived by his wife Mary McSwain of Center; son, Michael McSwain of Lindale; sister, Octavia McSwain of Sabetha, Kansas Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
MARIE DAW
   Marie Daw, 86, of Center died January 16, 2003 in Center.  Burial was in Strong Cemetery.  Born December 20, 1916, she was the daughter of James Walter and Pearl Wimberly Daw.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
SALATHA LEE MCCLELLAND
   Salatha McClelland, 96, died January 10, 2003.  Burial was in Rather Cemetery.  Born May 28, 1906, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Lynn Ratliff and Melvina Eddins Ratliff. Mrs. McClelland was preceded in death by her husband Fred Douglas.  She is survived by daughter Marcel White, Hazel Williams, Johnnie M. White, Mary E. Robinson of Roswell, New Mexico' sons Willit T. of Houston Willie Fred McClelland of Center.  Hicks Funeral Home
