    Richard Lee Rhoden Adams, 50, of Timpson died January 16, 2007.  Cremation was requested.  Born February 26, 1956, in El Paso, Texas, he was the son of Roland S. Roden and Dana Merrial Reed.  Mr. Adams was a machinist, iron worker and logger.  He is preceded in death by his step-father, Carl Adams.  Survivors include mother, Dana Reed Rhoden Adams of Timpson; father, Roland Rhoden of Willis; brother, James Allen Rhoden of League City and Sister, Sherry Rhoden Ragsdale of Timpson.  Mangum Funeral Home.
    Joyce Marie Wheeler Crocker, 78, of Nacogdoches died January 15, 2007.  Burial was Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery.  Born October 7, 1928, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of R. B. Wheeler and Leona Latham Wheeler.  Mrs. Crocker is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Oris Crocker; brother, Dearl Wheeler; sister, Betty Wheeler.  Survivors include daughters, Maxine Adams, Irene Self, Betty Patin, Donna Wood, All of Nacogdoches.  Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
    J. B. Evans, 79, of Tenaha died January 17, 2007.  Burial was in Attoyac Cemetery, San Augustine County.  Born November 27, 1927, in Geneva, San Augustine County, he was the son of James Benjamin and Alice Richardson Evans.  Mr. Evans is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Rash Evans; daughter, Annie Jean Evans; sisters, George Mae Harris, Gladys Martin and Bennie Faye Weir.  Survivors include daughter, Alice Jean Sandler, Bobbie Ann Luman of Carthage, Ellen Janice Carlton of Jasper, Judy Faye Wolff of Brookland, Donice Smith of MNorgans Point, Eloise Kencel of Bronson, Elaine Ray of Deweyville and Edna Odessa Glass of Moscow; sons, Jimmy Glenn Evand of Carthage, James ray Evans of Buna, Marcus Wayne Evans of Center and Jeremy Lance Evans of Center; brothers, L.     Etta R. Sneed, 54, died January 9, 2007.  Burial was in Westview Cemetery.  Born July 1, 1952, she was the daughter of R. L. Sneed and Charisse Rogers Sneed.  Ms. Sneed was preceded in death by brothers, MacAurthur Goodwin, Jr. and Kevin MacAurthur Goodwin.  Survivors include Lonzetta Sneed of Center; sister, Polley Patton of Center; brothers, Willie Sneed, Daryle Sneed, James Sneed and Leroy Sneed, all of Houston.  Community Funeral Home.
    Jewell Sheffield, 89, died January 15, 2007 in Nacogdoches,  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Born May 29, 1918 in Center, she was the daughter of Joseph Crawford Russell and Susan Ila Jernigan.  She is preceded in death by her husband, James Sheffield, brothers, Roy Perry Russell, Buford Dixon Russell, Simon Winford Russell, Harvey Russell; sister, Stella Marie Russell, Thelma Fults, Ira R. Hairston, ruby Ethel Strahan.  Survivors include Sisters, Jessie Agnes Menefee and Rossie Lorraine Russell.  Laird Funeral Home.
    Linda Faye Alvis, 59, of Center died January 21, 2007.  Burial was in Smith-James Cemetery.  Born January 7, 1948, in Center, she was the daughter of R. L. and Era Faye Jones Williams.  Survivors include her husband Tommie Alvis of Center; Sons, John Avis of Lovelady, James Alvis of Center, Jason Alvis of Shelbyville; Daughter, Jennifer Stracener of Shelbyville; Brother, Royce Lee Williams of Center.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
    John William Moore, 88, of Shelbyville died January 21, 2007 at his residence.  Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Born May 13, 1918, in Noble, Louisiana, he was the son of Bill and Pearl Anderson Moore.  Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents Bill & Pearl Moore, Sisters Dorothy Parker, Maxine Douzat, Claudia Miller and Jeanette Raimond.  Survivors include wife, Fronie Moore of Shelbyville; Daughter Shirley Koltonski of Shelbyville; Brother, Waymon Moore of Shelbyville; Sisters, Verna Snider of Center and Syble Jernigan of Shelbyville.  Mangum Funeral Home.
    Floreed Brittain, 100, of Center died January 20, 2007 in Center.  Burial was in Folsom Chapel Cemetery.  Survivors include Nephews and Nieces of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
    Rosine Melton Pinkston, 84, died January ??, 2007.  Burial was in Bethel Cemetery, in Appleby.  Born September 11, 1923, she was the daughter of William B. Melton and Rosa Belle Blacksher Melton.  Ms. Pinkston was a teacher in Shelbyville School.  She is preceded in death by by her husband William R. Pinkston; brothers, James Vard, Joe George Travis, Rosser and Kenner Melton; Sisters, Laura Melton Trawick and Fannie Lucille Melton.   Survivors include daughter Martha Kilpatrick; son, John Pinkston Cason Monk Metcalf Funeral Directors.
    Billy McCurry, 73, of La Porte, Texas, died January ??, 2007 in La Porte. Burial was at Sand Hill Cemetery.  Mr. McCurry was preceded in death by his parents Chessie and Susie McCurry.  Mangum Funeral Home.
    Winnie Raymond 87, of Orange died January 19, 2007 in Canton.  Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Joaquin.  Born February 3, 1919 she was the daughter of John and Mattie Lee Rogers Hutto.  Mrs. Raymond is preceded in death by parents; brothers, Walter and Edward Hutto; sisters, Etoile Trout, Annie Johnson and Addie Mae Johnson.  Survivors include children, Joan Dean Orville of Springtown, Wayne Johnson of Bridge City, Virginia Willias of Orange, Norma Benuit of Canton, John C. Raymond of Brandon Manitaba, Canada; Sister Lois Penny of Hooks; brother, Don Hutto of Hallsville.
    Mart Ola Ross, 95, of Center died January 21, 2007 at her residence.  Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery, Rusk County.   Born June 26, 1911, in Tilly Arkansas, she was the daughter of Felix Godfrey and Mary Langston Godfrey.  Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by husband George Washington Ross, Daughter, Goldie Ross.  Survivors include Daughter, Ruby Warren of Center; Sons, Kenneth Ross of Dayton, Bobby Ross of Conroe, Donny Ross of Hawkins.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
    Ann Samford 80, of Center died January 23, 2007 in Center.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born November 28, 1926, she was the daughter of John and Gladys Mitchell Mooseberg.  Mrs. Samford was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Clarence Ford Samford; brother Berry Mooseberg.  Survivors include sister Jean Alexander of Dallas.  Mangum Funeral Home.
    Alma McSwain, 95, of Center died January 22, 2007 in Center.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born January 15, 1912, she was the daughter of Henry and Virginia White.  Mrs. McSwain is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Samuel Leon McSwain; brothers Hendricks White, A. V. White, E. C. White and Bill White; Sister, Emily Burns.  Survivors include Son, Aubie Jean McSwain of Center; Daughter, Jacqulyn Powdrill of Mooringsport, Louisiana, Bedy Jo Williams of Woodville, LaNell Dykes of Center.  Mangun Funeral Home.
   Rear Admiral Wayne Smith, died January 21, 2007 in Pflugerville.  Burial was in Arlington National, Arlington, Virginia.  Admiral Smith was retired from the U.S. Navy.  Survivors include Wife, Molly Spears Smith of Alexandra, Virginia; son, Colby Smith of Cedar Park; Mother, Letitia Edgar of Hemphill; sister, Letitia Ana Brittain of Dallas Mangum Funeral Home.
