New Stuff/Additions/Corrections

On June 2, 1926, Mr. F. L. Moffett, principal of Center High School, was elected as Superintendent, succeeding W. W. Bennett, who resigned to enter the race for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.    A. E. Day, Jr. was elected principal of the high School, Mr. Day was a member of the high school faculty.

OBITUARIES
NOLA JEAN RHODES
    Nola Jean Rhodes, 67, of Timpson died February 16, 2008, in Timpson.  Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery.  Born July 2, 1940, in Patroon, she was the daughter of Alfred E and Virginia Othella Goodson Stephens.  Ms Rhodes was a graduate of Panola College of Nursing. She was preceded in death by Parents; Brothers, bill Stephens, Leon Stephens, A. E. Stephens, Jr. Curtis Stephens and Joe Stephens and Sister, Sis Crawford.  Survivors include Husband, Darrell D. Rhodes of Timpson; Sons, Steven Rhodes of Palmer, Alaska, Rickey Rhodes of Center; Daughter, DeAndrea Mucka of Channelview; Brothers, Valton Lavone Stephens of Rusk and Luther Ray Stephens of Odessa; Sisters, Dorothy Bailey of Timpson Frances Hoover of Timpson and Murlin Poskey of Nacogdoches.  Taylor Funeral Home.
J. LLOYD WOODS
    J. Lloyd Woods, 91, of Tenaha died February 17, 2008 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Restland Cemetery, Tenaha.  Born October 2, 1916, in the Brooks Community, Panola County, he was the son of Thomas Monnie and Edna Bessie Brown Woods.  Mr. Woods worked in the Education Field.  He was preceded in death by his Parents, Infant Son, 1942; Infant Daughter, 1945, Wife, Mildred Baldwin Woods.  Survivors include Brother, John Tom Woods of Pasadena; Sisters, Monnie Bess Woods Jones of Tyler, Nell Woods Hancock of Longview and Patsy Ruth Wood sByerly of Beaumont.
MARGARET ANN SCOTT
    Margaret Ann Scott, 70. of Timpson died February 17, 2008, in Timpson.  Burial was in Blair Cemetery.  Born October 29, 1937, in Timpson, she was the daughter of Buford and Louise Herndon Frederick.  Ms. Scott was a Homemaker.  She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Joe Scott; Parents; Brother, Buford Ray Frederick; Sister, Mary Scott. 
MILTON LAWRENCE
    Milton Lawrence, 80, died February 21, 2008 in Center.  Cremation was requested.  Born April 29, 1927, in Harrison County, he was the son of J. R. and Erma Riley Lawrence.  Mr. Lawrence was preceded in death by his Parents and Brothers, Wynn Lawrence and Norman Lawrence.  Survivors include Wife, Wanita Lawrence of Center; Sister, Katie Thompson of Marshall; on Lawrence of Carthage and Ted Lawrence of Arkansas.  Mangum Funeral Home.
