Clay Esther Scull, 90, of Tenaha, died February 21, 2013 in San Augustine. Interment was in Scull Family Cemetery, Tenaha. She was born May 1, 1922 in Palestine to Henry Clay Cooper and Esther Laurette Hull Cooper Geisler. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Drue Dale Scull. Survivors include, Son, John Dale Scull & wife, Erma Dee of Tenaha; Daughters, Priscilla Jayne Hill of Ft. Worth, Jodie Annette Wright & husband, Michael of Friendswood; Half-Sister, Betty Ellison of Corpus Christi.

Jenell Peace Shofner, 75, of Center, died February 20, 2013 at Holiday Nursing Home. Interment was in Ramah Cemetery, Tenaha, Texas. She was born June 27, 1937 in Tenaha to Carl L. and Irene Hooper Peace. DR. JOE B. HOOKER
Dr. Joe B. Hooker, 86, of Center, died February 20, 2013 at his residence. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born September 22, 1926 in Galatia, Illinois to Charles Frank and Ruth Alma Standerfer Hooker. He served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1944 to 1946 and he also served on the USS Salerno Bay. He started practicing in Center in June 1964. He has served this community as a medical doctor for forty-nine years where he has delivered over 3000 babies. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Step-Mother, Lucille Hooker; Sister & Brother-in-law, Verdine and Olan Williamson; Brother, Charles Davis Hooker. Survivors include, Wife of 62 years, Marian Hooker of Center; Son, Lewis Hooker & wife, Sue of Converse, Texas; Daughters, Sharon Hooker Nelson & husband, Donald of Center, Carol Lee Hooker Chandler & husband, Mickey of Center; Brother, Dixon Hooker & wife, Alice Jo of Welaka, Florida; Sisters-in-law, Marie Hooker of St. Cloud, Florida, Rachel Hall of Old Town, Florida, Carolyn Thomas of Lake City, Florida, Clarice Neal.

PHILLIS L. FILBECK
Phillis I. Filbeck, 71, died February 17, 2013 in Huxley, Texas. Cremation has taken place and a “Celebration of Life” will be held in July in Gillette, Wyoming for family and friends. She was born July 24, 1941 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Bill and Edna Durham. Survivors include, Husband, Johnie Filbeck; Daughters, Tammie, Sandra (JR), Debbie; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 3 sisters.
