The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting March 19, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. Our guest speaker this month will be Mr. Bill O'Neal. Mr. O'Neal is the Texas State Historian and is a well-known author. He has written many books about the history of Texas. He taught history for many years at Panola College.  He will speak to us about East Texan, Audie Murphy, the most decorated War Hero. Everyone is invited to attend.

Oscar Dominguez-Perez, 82, of Tenaha, died March 3, 2019. Interment was in Restland Cemetery, Tenaha, Texas. He was born February 5, 1937 in San Vicente, Guerrero, Mexico to Antonio and Rosa Dominguez-Perez. He was preceded in death by, Parents; two Brothers; two Sisters. Survivors include, Daughters, Leticia Dominguez , Reyna Dominguez; Sons, Oscar Dominguez, Jr, Rodrigo Dominguez , Darby Dominguez , Diego Dominguez.

EARL SMITH
Earl Smith, 87, of Shreveport, Louisiana, died March 1, 2019 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born on July 26, 1931 in Shreveport to Thomas Smith and Patsy Nabors. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps serving in both the Vietnam War and Korean War. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Wardella Smith; Brother, Joel Smith. Survivors include, Son, David Smith; Daughters, Susan Giddens, Stayce Malone.

Paulette Taylor, 76, of Midlothian, died March 2, 2019, in Midlothian. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born March 21, 1942, in Dayton, to Marvin Lester Hall and Nina Mae Abernathy Hall. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Curtis Taylor; numerous siblings.
