      |  | JOE R. DILLONJoe R. Dillon, 98, of Timpson, died February 28, 2023. Interment was in  Blair Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was  born in Timpson, Texas on June 10, 1924, to Robert Dillon and Carmen  Thornton Dillon.  Joe spent three years  in service in the United States Army. He fought in World War II in Germany and  Belgium and was present at the Battle of the Bulge. He was blessed to see the  end of the war. He was a member of the 740th Tank Battalion, also known as the  “Daredevil Tankers.”  He was preceded in  death by, Parents, Robert and Carmen Dillon, as well as, his nine  siblings.  Survivors include, Wife, Hazel  Hudson Dillon; Daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Dillon, currently of Timpson; Son  & wife, Larry & Debbie Dillon of Fort Worth.
