Survivors include, Wife, Christy Bates of Joaquin; Sons, David Lane Bates of Joaquin, Robert Kane Bates of Joaquin, Matthew Dylan Bates of Joaquin; Parents, Milton & Kay Bates of Joaquin; Sister, Amanda Kay Hall of Joaquin.

Jimmy Carlton Hutto, 76, of Joaquin, died March 10, 2009 in Shreveport. Burial will be in Sholar Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born June 21, 1932 in Paxton to George Solomon Hutto and Rosa Bates Hutto. Survivors include, Wife, Mary Hutto of Joaquin; Daughters, Ann Boyett of Joaquin, Kay Cunningham of Logansport, Louisiana; Sister, Mary Helen Carter of Paxton.

SANDRA YVONNE ROSS
    Sandra Yvonne Ross, 60, of Joaquin, died March 7, 2009 in Center. Burial was in Truitt Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born February 16, 1949 in Center to Author Lee Ross and Mary Graves Ross. Survivors include, Daughters, Candy Cox of Joaquin, Sherri R. Lewis of Joaquin; Sons, Harold E. Lewis of Joaquin, Jerry L. Lewis of Joaquin; Brother, Eugene Ross of Houston.
