Mrs. Rubye Mae Lister Biggers, 84, died March 11, 2009. Burial was in Rather Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born to Mr. Willie E. Lister, Sr. and Mrs. Dolena Chumley Lister on February 11, 1925, in the Todd Spring Community of Shelby County. She taught for Center Schools for forty years, retiring in 1985. Helen Ruth Morciglio, 64, of Port Arthur, died March 11, 2009. Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born April 4, 1944 in Shelby County to Jack Fulsom and Nora Carpenter Jordan. OB Hughes, 78, of Center, died March 17, 2009, after a valiant battle with cancer. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center. He was born October 12, 1930 in the Short Community of Shelby County to Druie Hughes and Myrtie Monroe Hughes. OB served in the US Army. EDDIE W. MAHAN
    Eddie W. Mahan, 86, died March 13, 2009 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born March 17, 1922 in Nacogdoches County to Samuel T. Mahan and Eliza Jane Oliver Mahan. He served his country in the U.S. Army where he was an Army Ranger with the Second Indian Head Division. Eddie was a survivor of the Omaha Beach Campaign at the Normandy Invasion. He was awarded the EAME Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart with one Bronze Cluster, and a Bronze Star Medal. Preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Clarence Mahan, Ernest Mahan, Nathan Mahan. Survivors include, Wife, Christine McSwain Mahan of Center; Sons, Eddie Lee Mahan of Burleson, Sammy J. MIKE & BETH O'DONNELL
    Mike O'Donnell, 64 and Beth O'Donnell, 56, of Center died March 13, 2009 as a result of an automobile accident. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center. Mike was born October 19, 1944 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Guy O'Donnell and Nellie O'Donnell. Beth was born November 27, 1952 in Center to Arthur P. Waller and Jimmie Louise Yarborough Waller. Mike served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Preceded in death by, Beth’s father, Arthur P. Waller; Mike’s Parents.
