OBITUARIES

RONNIE WAYNE HORTON
Deacon Ronnie Wayne Horton, 57, died March 10, 2022 in Lufkin, Texas.  He was born on August 3, 1964 to the late Milton Horton Sr. and the late Carrie Shepherd in Center, Texas.  He graduated from Timpson Independent School District Class of 1983 in Timpson, Texas.   He was preceded in death by, Parents; Son, Mark Anthony Smith; Brothers, Allen Ray, Darren, and Lawrence Horton.  Survivors include, Wife, Sherina K. Horton of Lufkin; Son, Arlondo M. Horton; Daughters, Britney LeAnn Horton of Dallas, Andrette L. Sessions-Matthew of Lufkin; Brothers, Milton Horton Jr. (Earsie) of Shelbyville, Robert James Shepherd (Mary Jo) of Nacogdoches; Sisters, Peggie Brown of Timpson, Betty Mitchell (Johnny) of Timpson, Callie Horton of Timpson, Donna Fletcher (Alford) of Timpson.
Services are under the direction of Sid Roberts Funeral Home.

JEAN LEWIS
Jean Lewis, 93, of Shelby County, Texas, died March 16, 2022. Interment was in the Chinquapin Cemetery.  She was born December 5, 1928, in the Hawthorne community.  Jean and Grady Lewis were married April 5, 1952, in San Augustine.  Survivors include, Frank and Penny Gauthier and their children, Landon Gauthier and Alaina Gauthier, who called her "MiMi".

DUSTY ADRIAN BARBEE
Dusty Adrian Barbee, 40, of Center, died March 15, 2022, at Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital.  Interment was in Short Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born June 12, 1981, in Nacogdoches, to Lois Ann Barbee and Denel Ray Barbee.  He graduated  from Center High School in 2000.  Survivors include, Son, Kagen Barbee; Mother, Lois Ann Barbee; Father, Denel Ray Barbee & wife Rosie; Brothers, Coby Barbee & wife Crystal, Joshua Barbee; Sister, Miley Barbee.

MARTHA SUE RUSSELL
Martha Sue Russell, 64, died, March 20, 2022, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She was born February 14, 1958 to Doris Welch.  She attended school in Center, Texas.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Bunny Schurig.  Survivors include, Children, Kevin Sanford, Brandy Sanford, Elizabeth Sanford, Crystal Sanford (Robert Lamb); Sisters,
Leta (Gene) Burns, Betty (Tim) Ford.

MACHELLE BRITTON STEWART
Machelle Britton Stewart, 52, of Conroe, Texas, died March 12, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.  There will be a celebration of Machelle's life at 12-noon on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the James Antioch Community Center.  She was preceded in death by, Parents, G. W. and Lois Britton; Brother, Charles Britton.  Survivors include, Husband, Gregg Stewart; Children, Jacob Martinez, Nathan Martinez & fiancé, Ravin Roberts, Chelsie Martinez, Kyle Stewart & wife, Sarah, Toni Scantlin & partner in life, Brian Hand, Amanda Wyler & husband, Chris, Jessica Beasley &  husband, John; Sisters, Anita Herndon, Teresa Young, Shina Jernigan; Brother, George Britton.

 

IDA MAE EMERSON
Ida Mae Emerson, 70, of Joaquin, died March 17, 2022, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in O. E. Price Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana.  She was born July 3, 1951, in Logansport, Louisiana, to Alice N. MacCalster and Rason M. Dickerson Sr.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Bobby Joe Dickerson; Sister, Alice Dickerson.  Survivors include, Husband, Johnnie Emerson of Joaquin; Children, Edith & husband Michael Mayes of Joaquin; Bradley Emerson; Sister, Irene & husband Martin Windham of Joaquin; Brother, Ransom Dickerson of Mansfield, Louisiana.
