Uradee Baker Dockrell, 97, of Pasadena, Texas, died March 28, 2013 in
Center, Texas. Interment was in
Shady Grove Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born in Timpson, Texas,
November 24, 1915, to William Thomas “Tom” Baker and Arie Richards
Baker. During World War II, she served as an aviation defense contractor
and was an airplane ferry pilot, flying the new airplanes to the Army
from the assembly plant. She graduated from Timpson High School. Her
brother and sisters were, Erel Baker Rhodes Laake, Walter Thomas “Jack”
Baker, Thelma Baker Moore, Katie Baker Cole, Yvonne Baker Baker. She was
married to Melvin Dockrell July 13, 1948, and he preceded her in death.
Other family members include, Nephews, Tommy Moore, Phillip Baker,
Ronnie Cole; Nieces, Avie Rhodes, Shelba Rhodes (deceased).
