David Swanzy to Speak at Monthly Shelby County Museum Meeting

Shelby County Museum will have their regular monthly meeting, Tuesday, April 19th at 6:30 at the Museum. David Swanzy will speak on the subject of "Two Centuries in East Texas" from the book by George Louis Crocket from his book written in 1932. Everyone is invited to attend and learn of Crocket's revealing facts about the early days of Shelby County

Lois Wilburn, 89, died March 31, 2011 in Lufkin. Burial was in Munnerland Cemetery. She was born March 4, 1922 to John R. and Alice Ora Eddins Carpenter in Shelby County. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, William Clayton Wilburn; 3 Brothers & 4 Sisters, Jay Carpenter, Clyde Carpenter, Audrice Carpenter, Bill Gilbert, Maxine Gaston, Maureen Hardy, Aladoris Reed. Survivors include, Sons, Jerry Lee Wilburn & wife Beulah of Silsbee, William Glenn Wilburn & wife Kathy of Center; Daughter, Louise Bennefield of San Augustine.

Gregory Doyle Warr, 63, of Sherman, died March 30, 2011. Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born February 12, 1948 in Center, Texas to the late Doyle and Lynne McSwain Warr. He was preceded in death by his parents. Geraldine "Jerry" Watson Crawford, 82, of Pearland, TX, formerly of Timpson, Texas, died April 3, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born October 8, 1928, in Garrison, Texas, to John Foster and Tommie Rowena Allgood Watson.
