The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting April 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The guest speaker this month will be Buster Bounds. He will be speaking to us about the P. O. W. Camp. Everyone is invited to come out and hear this program on local history.

Brian Williams, 73, of Center, died April 3, 2014 at his residence. Interment was in Old Salem Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born March 16, 1941 in Beckenham, England to Maurice Ronald Williams and Dorthea Jane Williams. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Nell Williams. Survivors include, Son, Adam Brian Williams of England; Daughters, Louise Claudette Burton of England, Natasha Louise Williams of Houston; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Oren Millie Warr of Center; Sister-in-law, Myra Wright of Bridge City.

Colleen Frances Linebarger, 70, of Timpson, Texas, died April 03, 2014 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment was in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born September 21, 1943, in San Francisco, California to Francis Edward O’Brien and June Ellen Gilman O’Brien. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Michael Linebarger; Sister, Cynthia Cantrell. Survivors include, Sons, Matthew Linebarger & wife, Elizabeth of Tenaha, Christopher Linebarger & wife, Crystal of Timpson; Daughters, Tamara Linebarger & James Edison of Timpson, Tonie Schaffer & husband, Bryan of Center Point, Alabama; Brothers, Thomas O’Brien & wife. THURMAN RUSS “T. R.” GOLDING
Thurman Ross “T. R.” Golding, 94, of Center, Texas, died April 03, 2014 at his home in Center. Interment was in Wimberly Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born in the Huxley, Golding Shores Community on September 24, 1919 to Joel Eddie and Maude Harvey Golding. He was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he served from 1941 until 1945. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, G. L. Golding, Eddie Eugene Golding; Sister, Lona Belle Golding Wheeler; Mother of his children, Hazel Fields Golding Loyd.
