David Swanzy to Speak at Monthly Shelby County Museum Meeting

Shelby County Museum will have their regular monthly meeting, Tuesday, April 19th at 6:30 at the Museum. David Swanzy will speak on the subject of "Two Centuries in East Texas" from the book by George Louis Crocket from his book written in 1932. Everyone is invited to attend and learn of Crocket's revealing facts about the early days of Shelby County





Peggy Marie Broadway, 64, of Tenaha, died April 08, 2011 in Center. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born November 19, 1946 in the Dreka Community to Albert Windham and Sally “Edna” Duncan Golden. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Daughter Shelia Broadway; Brothers, Travis Windham, Jewel Windham; Sisters, Sue Windham, Evelyn, Windham. Survivors include, Children, Lisa Dupree & husband, Jerry of Nacogdoches, Teresa Ford & husband, Ricky of Tenaha, Tammy & Chris Tyre of Center, Nancy Lawhorn & husband, Jerry of Tenaha, Melvin Broadway, Jr. & wife, Janet of Huxley, Michael Broadway of Center; Brothers & Sisters, Vernell Hooks , Sharon Lewis & husband, Ralph, Don Roy Windham, Keith & Lori Windham.

W. “Earl” Jackson, 56, of Diboll, died April 10, 2011. Burial was in Ryan Chapel Cemetery. He was born December 23, 1954 to Mr. & Mrs. William Henry Jackson of Center.
