"The 31st annual Leo and Ada McSwain Memorial Family Reunion will be held in Colmesneil Texas at the McSwain "lakehouse" on  Saturday, May 24, 2008.  This reunion was started in 1978 by the children of Leo and Ada McSwain and has been held in Colmesneil ever since. The living children of Leo and Ada are Norma George, Odell Hart, and E.C. McSwain. There will be family, food, pictures, and family info. Email for more information and directions."


    Era Jo Ballard, 70, died April 16, 2008 in Center.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born January 29, 1948, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she was the daugher of Howard Henry and Wera Christian Henry.  Ms. Ballard was preceded in death by Father, Howard Henry; Husband, Buster Ballard.  Survivors include Mother, Wera Henry of Center; Sons, Chris Ballard of Kingwood and Mark Ballard of Ft. Worth; Daughter, Melissa Scroggins of Dallas.

    Hazel "Sallie"  McDaniel, 95, of Tenaha died April 15, 2008 at her residence.  Burial was in Restland Cemetery, Tenaha.  Born September 22, 1912 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of John Wilburn McDaniel and Lonie Etta Foster McDaniel. Ms. McDaniel was preceded in death by Parents; Siblings; Annie McDaniel, Vernon McDaniel, Herbert McDaniel, Elva Burns McDaniel and S. A. "Snook" McDaniel.  Survivors include a host of Nieces, Nephews and a host of Friends.

    Gwenieth Louise Wedgeworth Tyer, 88, of Timpson, died April 14, 2008 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. Born July 8, 1919, in Dotson Panola County, she was the daughter of Lonnie F. and Monnie Griffin Wedgeworth.  Ms. Tyer was preceded in death by by Husand. Leonard Dean Tyer.  Survivors include Daughter, Linda Kay Nix of Timpson; Brother L. F. Wedgeworth, Jr. of Shreveport, Louisiana of Carthage; Sister Syble Keeling of Timpson. Taylor Funeral Home
