Shelby County Museum is preparing for an exhibit to honor Shelby County Current Military and Veterans of Korean, Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan.  If you or have a relative that is serving in the Military.  Please supply a photo and info, (rank, parents/spouse name where served,  preferably in uniform and email, bring by or snail mail to the museum.   The exhibit will open on Friday before Memorial Day.

PEOPLE LOOKING

        Looking for information on Louis\Lewis T. Watkins in Shelby or surrounding Counties.  The dates would be between 1805 South Carolina/Tennessee and Bet. July - August 1844 Shelby Co., Texas when he was murdered during "The Regulator-Moderator War " of Shelby Co., Texas.  His father's name was also Louis\Lewis Watkins.  His mother's name was probably Elizabeth (Polly) Freeman.  His wife's name was Elizabeth Gordon born July 25, 1813 in Maury Co., Tennessee.  Louis\Lewis and Elizabeth Gordon were married September 16, 1832 in St. Clair Co., Alabama.  email Ric Gordon, at gordonfinder@sbcglobal.net

BRIAN DANIEL MCDONOUGH
    Brian Daniel McDonough, 22, of Carthage died April 13, 2006, in Carthage.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Shelby County.  Born June 30, 1983, in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of Dr. Fred C. and Terrilynn James McDonough.  Mr. McDonough was a student at Panola Junior College, Carthage.  Survivors include his parents, Dr. Fred and Terrylynn James McDonough; sister, Megan Brooke McDonough of Lubbock; daughter, Chloey Baker of Dallas;  Grandparents, Reba James of Center and Joe and Blossom McDonough of Brady.  Mangum Funeral Home.
JOHN WAYNE BODIFORD
    John Wayne Bodiford, 79, of Nacogdoches died April 15, 2006, in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson.  Born October 10, 1926, in Mineola, he was the son of William Izar and Lillie Mae Hall Bodiford.  Mr. Bodiford was a veteran of World War II and a welder with Local Union.  Survivors include wife, Marian Hooper bodiford; sons, John Michael Bodiford of Woodruff, South Carolina and Mark Wayne Bodiford of Dayton, Texas, Daughter, Sndra Williams of Stover, Missouri.  Taylor Funeral Home.
ONEITA STILLEY
    Oneita Stilley, 93, died April 18. 2006, in Garrison.   Burial was in Corinth Cemetery in Shelby County.  Born June 1, 1912, in Brockfield, she was the daughter of Arthur Eugene and Pellie Frances McLeroy Hunt.  Survivors include her sister, Juddie Crawford of Tyler.  Taylor Funeral Home.
ELZIE "BUDDY" RONALD BOGUE
    Elzie Ronald Bogue, 73, of Tenaha died April 19, 2006 in Center.  Burial was in Enterprise  Cemetery.  Born May 29, 1932, in Modesto, he was the son of  California to Loise Bray and Yvonne Lathrop.  Survivors include son Bogue of Center; Sisters, Jean Stewart of Canyonville, Oregon, Evelyn Dunn of Dekalb and Dianne Morgan of Houston; Brother, James Boyge of Stuart, Flordia.  Mangum Funeral Home.
HESTER MAE BLACKWELL
    Hester Mae Blackwell, 73, of Stockman died April 20, 2006.  Burial was in Blair Cemetery, Timpson.  Born May 20, 1932, in Stockman, she was the daughter of Jun and Stella Adkinson Haywood.  Mrs. Blackwell was a Homemaker.  Survivors include husband, Earl Blackwell; sons, Mark Blackwell, Sr. Kenneth Blackwell, Keith Blackwell; Daughter Louise Teets.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
BEVIE KENT BOWLIN
    Bevie Kent Bowlin, 59, of Timpson died April 17, 2006, in Timpson.  Burial was in Tennessee Cemetery, Timpson.  Born August 30, 1946, in Center he was the son of Bevie Lee and Mabel Lee Bowlin.  Mr. Bowlin was a mechanic and a veteran of US Marine Corps.  Survivors include wife, Linda Thomas Bowlin of Timpson; daughter, Katie Standfield of Katy; sister, Danna Hasley of Nacogdoches; stepsons, Darrell Sadler of Groves and Carl Sadler of Mauriceville.  Taylor Funeral Home.
DONNA WARR
    Donna Warr, 87, of Mt. Herman Community died April 17, 2006 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Mt. Herman Cemetery.  Born August 22, 1918, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Phillip and Tempie Stephens Koonce.  Mrs. Warr was a Homemaker and a member of Eastern Star.  Survivors include son, Delano Warr of Center; sister, Eldora Holt of Center.   Mangum Funeral Home.
BILLIE JANE RUTH
    Billie Jane Ruth, 65, died April 3, 2006.  Burial was in St. John Cemetery.  Born October 22, 1940, in Center, she was the daughter of Roosevelt Lane and Irena Lane.  Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by children, Joan Ruth and Curtis Ray Ruth; brother, Glen L. Lane; sister Lois G. Edwards and Mattie Lane. Survivors include, children, John L. Randle, Jr., Martin Randle, Stacy Ruth, Clifford Ruth, and Ashonatez Ruth, all of Center and Raymond Ruth of Longview; Brother, Travis Lane of Center.  Community Funeral Home.
