Dennis “Rooster” Shaeffer, 43, died April 18, 2019 in Shelbyville,Texas. He was a United States Coast Guard veteran, serving as a Tactical Law Enforcement Officer. He proudly served his community and his country doing supply, disaster, and rescue operations during hurricanes Florence and Harvey with the Cajun Navy Relief, Texas Native team, and BearPaw TacMed. Survivors include, Wife, Linsey; Children, Jacob, Landry; Father, Dennis; Mother, Lucy; Brother, Daniel & wife Geri; His in-laws, Peggy & Jasen Watlington; Brother-in-law, Gage Watlington.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he valiantly served his country in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, Son, Kenneth H.
