BILLIE JORDAN
Billie Jordan, 88, of Joaquin, died April 22, 2010 in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center. She was born March 11, 1922 in Logan, Louisiana to John and Ida Ramsey. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Leland V. Jordan. Survivors include, Sons, Vance Jordan & wife Cathy of Joaquin, Craig Jordan & wife Denise of Huxley, Murphy Jordan & wife LuAnn of Longview, David Jordan & wife Angie of Logansport; Daughter, Jan Zuniga of Logansport; Sisters, Sue Hooper & husband Arnold of Joaquin, Norma Faye Ramsey of Mesquite.

FURMAN DAVIS
Furman Davis, 88, long-term resident of Center, Texas, died April 25, 2010, at his daughter’s home in Georgetown, Texas. Burial will be in Newburn Cemetery, Shelby County. Furman was born and raised in Center, Texas, the youngest son of John and Jessie Davis. He was preceded in death by, Wife, Mary Jo Matthews Davis. Survivors include, Daughters, Dianna Davis Forest, Brenda Davis Fye; Sons, Victor Furman Davis, David Matthews Davis. Furman served his country in the Texas National Guard, the United States Army and the United States Air Force from November 1938 until he retired in January 1972. He received numerous decorations and awards for his service and bravery including a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and numerous campaign medals.
DAVID STERLING GRIFFIN
David Sterling Griffin, 77, of Center, died April 23, 2010 in Center. Burial was in Folsom Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born September 14, 1932 in Kountze, Texas to Mike Malone Griffin and Myra Williams Griffin. Survivors include, Special Friends, Ford & Mary Windham.

HAROLD L. RODGERS
Harold L. Rodgers, 86, of Center died April 23, 2010 at his residence. Burial was in Short Cemetery, Shelby County. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. Survivors include, A Number of Special Friends.

HENRY B. PORTERFIELD
Henry B. Porterfield, 93, of Timpson, died April 25, 2010 in Timpson. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. He was born April 17, 1917, in Timpson to John Henon and Annas Biering Porterfield. He served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945, fighting in Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland. Preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Aubrey, Marvin, Herbert, Emory, Gaston, Melvin, Daniel; Sisters, Mary Hammers, Lizzie Porterfield, Jewel Ford, Ruth Porterfield. Survivors include, numerous nieces and nephews.

James Zack “Dude” Mills, 80, of Center, died April 27, 2010 in Shreveport, La. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center. He was born October 30, 1929 in Pineland to James Burke Mills and Clanty Delilah Thomas Mills. Mr. Mills served his country in the US Air Force. Survivors include, Wife, Christine Mills of Center; Sons, Ronald Mills of Shreveport, Louisiana, Randolph Mills & wife Brenda of Keithville, Louisiana, Stanley Hill & wife Minerva of Mesa, Arizona, Gary E. Hill & wife Nin of Timpson; Daughters,
Ann Mills McGuire of Shreveport, Louisiana, Margie Mills Hennigan & husband Radian of Ruston, Louisiana.
