Marlon Brittain, 67, of Center died April 29, 2005 at his residence. Burial was in White Rock Cemetery. Born February 24, 1938, he was the son of Woodrow W. and Lillian Odell Stewert Brittain. Mr. Brittain was retired as a Letter Carrier with the US Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Leola Brittain of Center; daughters, Donna Presley of Conway, Arkansas and Pam Hayes of Greenbrier, Arkansas; sons, Mitchel Brittain of Magnola and Stephen Brittain of Columbia, California; brother Charlie O'Brian Brittain of Center. Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

Weldon A. Denby, 75, of San Augustine died April 28, 2005, in San Augustine. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shelby County. Born October 1, 1929, in Shelby County, he was the son of Clifford Reaves and Versie Viola Denby. Mr. Denby was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Denby of San Augustine; sons, Horst W. Denby of Shelby County and Jimmey Earl Denby of San Augustine; daughters, Peggy L. Norton of Vidor and Heidi Gale Williams of Queen City; brothers, Jack Wallace Denby of Joaquin and Bruce Howard Denby of Gary; sisters, Beatrice Dutton of Shelby County. Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.
Dorothy Ping, 83, of Baytown died April 7, 2005. Burial was in Ramah Cemetery, Shelby County. Born July 8, 1921, in Tenaha, she was the daughter of Allen and Rena Lee Samford. Mrs. King was retired from General Telephone Company. She is preceded in death by her Husband, William R. Ping, brother, Jeff Sanford and sisters, Vina Spears, Tuth Templin and Mary Bachman.
