A memorial stone will be dedicated in memory of Benjamin Bell and Mary E. Murray Pleasant, on Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Cove Springs Cemetery, near Melrose, Nacogdoches Co., Tx., at 5:00.  All Pleasant and allied cousins are invited to attend.  Their daughter Adeline Pleasant and her children lived in Center after 1890. RUBY SUMNER SIMS
   Ruby Sumner Sims, 79, of Center died May 15, 2003 in Nacogdoches.   Burial was in Campti Cemetery, Shelby County.   Born December 22, 1923, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Elmer and Ethel Cox Sumner. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Ethel Sumner and sister, Ethel Cox Sumner  Ms. Sims is survived by her husband, Jeff Sims of Center; daughter, Carolyn Sims Field of Center; and Sister, Bennie McNease of Center.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
ESTEL MAE BISHOP
   Estel Mae Bishop, 83, of Center died May 18, 2003 in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born December 5, 1919, in San Augustine, she was the daughter of Dona Allen and Virginia Pinkston Coon.   Ms. Bishop is survived by daughters, Marvlet Barlow and Joy Buckley, both of Center; son Ben Galloway of Springfield, California.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
HAROLD D. LEE
   Harold D. Lee, 55, of Center died May 19, 2003 in Center. Burial was in White Rock Cemetery.  Born November 4, 1947, in Ringgold, Louisiana, he was the son of Johnny Duane and Betty Jo McGinty Lee.      Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, Sarah J. Lee of Center; Daughter, Marla Lee of Center; sons, Eric Lee and Justin Lee, both of Center; brother, Butch Lee of Ringgold; and sisters, Margie Grigsby of Ruston, Louisiana and Phyllis Dupree of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. GLENN HOBSON LAWSON
   Glenn Hobson Lawson, 76, of Center died May 18, 2003 in Center.  Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.  Born September 14, 1926, in Center, he was the son of Hobson and Lela Jones Lawson.  Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Wynell Lawson of Center; son, Jerry Lawson of Center; daughters Janet Wilson and Jenny Fancher, both of Center; brothers, Happy Lawson of Crosby, Billy Lawson and Forriest Lawson, both of Center and Tommy Lawson of Joaquin; sisters, Oleta Cockrell of Joaquin and Judy Carrington and Ruby Hughes, both of Center.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
RICHARD W. WHARTON
   Richard W. Wharton, 86 of Joaquin died May 17, 2003 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial was in Joaquin Cemetery. Born June 6, 1916, he was the son of Richard Henry and Cora Elizabeth Payne Wharton.       Mr. Wharton is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.   Mangum Funeral Home.
FRANCES JOYCE HELPINSTILL
   Frances Joyce Helpinstill, 80, of Shelbyville died May 19, 2003 in Center.   Burial was in Rather Cemetery.   Born August 8, 1922, in Dallas, she was the daughter of Gary L. and Lucille Goetseels Burton.  Ms. Helpinstill is survived by her husband, Max B. Helpinstill of Shelbyville; daughter, Kathy Lee Thomas of Stillwater, Oklahoma; son Robert John Helpinstill of Beaumont, Virginia; sister, Betty Rea Davis of Dallas.  Mangum Funeral Home.
H.L. "BUBBA" HATTON
   H.L. Hatton, 59, of Center died May 19, 2003 in Center. Burial was in Adams Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born July 28, 1943, in Houston, he was the son of Horace Clem and Annie Pace Hatton.  Mr. Hatton is survived by parents Annie and Charles Thomas of Center; sisters, Patricia Ann Perkins of Tenaha, Mary Frances Higgins of Liberty, Linda Sue Franklin of Shelbyville and Alice Gardiner of Houston; brother, Kenneth Wayne Wilkinson of Texas.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home. 
JOYCE DUPRIEST HENDERSON
   Joyce Dupriest Henderson, 69, of Gary died May 18, 2003 in Gary.  Burial was in Tennessee Cemetery. Born April 20, 1934, in Gary, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Lurie Lee Horton.  Ms. Henderson was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Lurie Horton; 1st husband Johnny Dupreist and 2nd husband Ronnye Henderson.  Survivors include son Andy Dupreist of Dangerfield; daughters Liz hill of Carthage and Sharon D. Berry and Karen Forsythe, both of Gary; sister Burlene of Gary. 
BOB CROCKER
   Bob Crocker, 52, of Center died May 21, 2003 in Tyler.  Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.  Born June 28, 1950, in Shelby County, he was the son of Willie D. and Joyce Holt Crocker Scott.  Mr. Crocker is survived by his wife, Ann Crocker of Center; sons, Craig and Clint Crocker both of Center; mother, Joyce Scott of Center; sisters, Mary Paxton and Sue Walker both of Center.   Mangum Funeral Home.
OREE MOORE
   Oree Moore, 78, died May 14, 2003 in Beaumont.  Burial was in Westview Cemetery.  Born May 14, 1925, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Lucy Polley.  Ms. Moore was preceded in death by her husband Zelmon Moore.  She is survivied by sisters-in-law, Jennie V. Thompson and other relatives.  Community Funeral Home.
LUZENIA SHEPHARD
   Luzenia Shephard, 95, died May 13, 2003.  Burial was in Westview Cemetery.  Born March 29, 1908, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Couy and Lutie Swindle.  Ms. Shephard was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Phillip Shephard; brothers Wade Swindle, Adam Paul Roosevelt and L.J. Jackson and step-brothers, Jeff, Roland, Cap and Hollis Jackson.   She is survived by a host of relatives and friends.  Community Funeral Home.
