       On Sunday, July 3, 2005  the descendants of  David H. Durr will hold the 56th  annual reunion at the Ajax (LA) Community Center located at the ;intersection of LA 487 & LA 174.  If you are a descendant of one of the children of David who settled in Shelby County (Michael D. Durr & wifeArabella Byrd; Cynthia Ellen Durr & husbands John P. Thomas & Louis Davis; Lucinda A. "Belle" Durr & Thomas Leroy Barnhill)  come and join your Louisiana cousins starting at about 10:30 and bring something to share at lunch.  If you have never been to the Durr reunion come to meet;your long lost cousins, share in the fellowship of the day, and share  research with others who are working on the family tree.  For additional informaton contact Susan W. Henry Clay Haralson was stabbed in the heart and died in Center on August 1, 1918.   He was the pastor at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.  His wife Lula and two daughters Inez and Irene survived him.  Does anyone know anything about this event?  Email   kenkeener@charter.net  2

GENE LEESON
    Gene Leeson , 70, of Tenaha died May 20, 2005, in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born July 23, 1934, in Doddridge County West Virginia, he was the son of Boyud Leeson and Nellie Maude Gains Leeson.  He was retired from the lumber mill, Logansport, Louisiana.  Survivors include wife, Betty Leeson of Tenaha; children, Michael Leeson, Lisa Leeson and Elizabeth Leeson, all of Galveston County; step-children, Teresa Watson of Vanvleck, Jimmy Byrd of Joaquin, Marie Windham of Joaquin and Christy Byrd of Joaquin.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
GENE FREEMAN
   Gene Freeman, 72, of Joaquin died May 20, 2005, in Carthage.  Cremation was requested.  Born August 9, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of Jasper McMurtrey Freeman and Catherine Davis Freeman.  Mr. Freeman was retired from the US Navy.  Survivors include daughter, Pamela Lamascus of Dallas.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
ASHLEY HALL
   Ashley Hall, 21, died May, 20, 2005 in Pasadena.  Burial was in Rather Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born July 17, 1983, in Pasadena, she was the daughter of Ron and Saundra Hall. Survivors include son, Zander Hall; parents Ron and Saundra Hall; brothers, Steven Michael Hall and Matt Hall. 
VALTON WAYNE MCCRARY
   Valton Wayne McCrary, 68, died May 23, 2005 in Longview.  Burial was in Ramah Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born September 6, 1936, in Joaquin, he was the son of Delbert and Ruby Scott McCrary.  Mr. McCrary was retired from Supreme Plastics.  Survivors include mother, Ruby Scott McCrary of Kilgore; daughters, Stacy Henderson of Houghton, Louisiana and Carla Sayers of Wyoming; son, Lewis McCrary of Minden, Louisiana; brother, Pat McCrary of Timpson; sister, Glenda Atkinson of Crowley, Louisiana.  Mangum Funeral Home.
GEORGIANNA D. HEAD
   Georgianna D. Head, 89, of Port Neches died May 25, 2005. in Port Neches.  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born September 30, 1918, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of William J. and Clara Bergeron Day.  Mrs. Head was a homemaker.  She was married to James Lloyd Head and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughter, Madeline G. Borzillori of Port Neches; son, Earl Head of Pasadena; sisters, Marion Owens, Eileen Monroe, Regina Fagnant, Helen Vandermost and Joan Noble; brother, Jimmy Day of Rhode Island, Lorraine Kendrick of Nacogdoches, Gilly Gene Head of Port Neches, Shirley Brown of Aiken.  Levingston Funeral Home, Port Neches.
