Bonnie Windham, 71, of Center, died May 25, 2013 at her residence. Interment was in Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born December 30, 1941 in Iager, West Virginia to J.W. Justice and Bertha Payne Justice. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Thelma Vandyke; Brothers, Clinton Justice, Joe Justice, Dale Justice, Roger Justice; Stepdaughter, Tara Blue. MATTIE McLENDON DELLINGER
Mattie Imelda McLendon Dellinger, 101, lifelong resident of Center and Center's beloved official town historian, died May 28, 2013 at her residence. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. Ms Mattie was born October 1, 1911 in Center, Texas to M. B. “Bartow” McLendon, (born in Troy, Alabama from 1868-1933) and Carrie Elizabeth (Smithson) McLendon, (born March 22, 1885 in Grand Rivers, KY to 1985). Mattie’s family moved to Center in 1887. Mattie was a 1929 graduate of Center High School. Before it was made official, Mattie was long known as Center's unofficial town historian. She knew the who, what, when, where, and how of just about every major news event in Shelby County and in 2008, Mattie was honored as the official “East Texas Town Historian of Center, Texas” by the Shelby County Historical Commission, which she easily met the criteria for. Even though Mattie was admired by the likes of Dan Rather and Willie Nelson, her biggest fans have always been her neighbors in Center, Texas. She was preceded in death by, Parents, M. B. and Carrie McLendon; Husband, L.L. “Pete” Dellinger; Son, Dan Dellinger; Daughter-in-law, Ruby Dellinger; Sister, Lucy Lee McLendon Gregory; Brothers, George Martin McLendon, Maurice Bartow McLendon. Survivors include, Daughter, Dixie Lee Dellinger of Center; Granddaughters, Denise Dellinger Oates & husband, Shepherd of Mesquite, Deborah Dellinger Young & husband, Jeff of Center.

ROBERT L. LOOMIS
Robert L. Loomis, 69, of Joaquin, died May 24, 2013 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Center. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana. He was born October 5, 1943 in Corinth, Pennsylvania to James L. Loomis and Ethel Burrows Loomis. Mr. Loomis served his country in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by, Father, James Loomis; Sisters, Shirley Loomis, Rosemary Loomis; Son, James Loomis. Survivors include, Wife, Donna Loomis of Joaquin; Children, Robert L. Loomis Jr. & wife, Rose stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Denise Swick & husband, David of New Mexico, Leslie Alford & husband, John of Logansport, Louisiana, John P. Gay Nell Moore, 73, of Center, died May 20, 2013 in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas. William R. “Rick” Forbis, 56, of Shelbyville, died May 28, 2013 at Nacogdoches Medical Center. Interment will be in Old Center Cemetery, Panola County. He was born March 5, 1957 in Galena Park to Thomas W. Forbis and Dorothy Faye Emmons Forbis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Forbis. Survivors include, Parents, Bro. Jack & Mrs. Dorothy Forbis of Timpson; Sister, Virginia Ann Meadows of San Leon; Nephew, Tommy Jack Forbis of Pensacola, Florida; Niece, Crystal Kay Forbis of Pensacola, Florida.
