Obituaries

 

IVA MAY CREECH---Iva May Creech, 94, of Center, died May 24, 2002 in Pine Grove Nursing Home.  Burial was in Newburn Cemetery.  Born October 6, 1907, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Dixon Gilford and Robina Barbee Reynolds.  She was married to Burette Creech, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include her daughter, Rozelle Smith of Houston.  Mangum Funeral Home.
JACKY LYNN DICKERSON--Jacky Lynn Dickerson, 50, of Joaquin died may 25, 2002.  Burial was in Johnson Cemetery.  Born May 1, 1952, in Joaquin, he was the son of Ray Dickerson, Sr. and Era Dell Glaze Dickerson. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Dickerson; daughter Julie Dickerson of Joaquin; sisters Virginia Biehle of Lexington, Nelwyn Owens of Dallas, Kay Brewton and Carolyn Ewing of Joaquin;  Brothers, James Dickerson, Ray Dickerson, Jr., Kenneth Dickerson and Mike Dickerson, all of Joaquin.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
CHRISTOPHER CURRY---Christopher Curry, 17, of Joaquin died May 29, 2002 in Lufkin.  Burial was in Willow Grove Cemetery.  Born November 22, 1984, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of Rocky Edward and Denise Holt Curry.   Survivors include his parents; brothers, Michael Curry and Ryan Curry, both of Joaquin; Grandparents, J.W. Curry of Mansville, Louisiana, Robbie Huffman of Sam Rayburn, and Gunter and Sharon Holt of Joaquin.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
THELMA FAYE MENA BOUCHILLON---Thelma Faye Bouchillon, 58, of Ft. Worth died May 30, 2002 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born March 3, 1934, in Noble, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Sidney and Emma Paddie Mena.  Survivors include daughters, Jecca Hemphill of Granbury and Jennifer Madhloon of Arlington; son Mike Henson of Grandbury; brothers, Lynn Mena of Broaddus and Ray Mena of Texarkana; sisters, Lucille Jones of Tenaha and Margaret Walters of Broaddus.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
PAULINE "POLLY" HUGHES---Polly Hughes, 81, of Center, died May 30, 2002 in Center.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born March 8, 1921, in Alabama, she was married to Jack Hughes and he preceded her in death.  She is survived by sisters, Celia Hill and Ruby Terry; brothers Jose Rose an Ed Rose.   Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
ETHEL STILLEY BURKETT---Ethel Burkett, 90, of Timpson, died May 27, 2002 in Cuero, Texas.  Burial was in Corinth Cemetery.   Born February 25, 1912, she was the daughter of Mose and Beulah Bussey Stilley.   Mrs. Burkett is preceded in death by her husband Clark Burkett.  Survivors include sons, Ben Burkett of Cuero, Bob Burkett of Pearland and Bill Burkett of Victoria.   Taylor Funeral Home.
VAUDINE ROGERS---Vaudine Rogers, 84, of Center, died May 27, 2002 in Pine Grove Nursing Home.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.   Born January 20, 1918, she was the daughter of Willis Adam and Callie Renfro Bradshaw.  She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Rogers; parents, Willis and Callie Bradshaw; sister, Annie Bell Colins and Brother, George E. Bradshaw.  She is survived by brother, R.J. Bradshaw of Mountainview, Arkansas, Homer Bradshaw; sister, Johnnie Neal of Greenwood, Louisiana.  Mangum Funeral Home.
EARL DAVID STEATON--Earl David Seaton, 80, of Pasadena died May 26, 2002 in Oklahoma.  Born October 12, 1921, he was the son of Tom and Virgie Jackson Seaton.  Mr. Seaton was preceded in death by his wife Lou Ella Seaton; parents, Tom and Virgie Seaton; and sister Irene Turner.  He is survived by daughter Ann Davis of Houston; sisters, Helen Morris of Powderly, Thelma Clark of Houston, Charlene Curits of Hugh, Oklahoma.  Mangum Funeral Home.
