        The fourth MYERS FAMILY REUNION will be Saturday June 9, 2007 in the fellowship hall at Ramah Baptist Church. Bring a covered dish for lunch and plan on staying all day.         The Wimberly Cemetery annual homecoming will be Sunday, June 17th at 10:30 A. M. with lunch at 12 noon.  Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a time of food and fellowship.  Singing will begin at 1 P. M. by the Shelby County Singers.  All of those interested in the upkeep of the cemetery are urged to attend.  Donations may be mailed to Wimberly Cemetery, 13305 FM 139, Shelbyville, Texas 75973

Newburn Cemetery Homecoming and Memorial Day

The Annual Newburn Cemetery Homecoming and Memorial Day will be held at the Newburn Cemetery on Saturday, June 30, 2007 from about 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 P. M.   Everyone with an interest in the cemetery is invited to come and enjoy the fellowship with us.

 


 Homecoming is October 27 and 28, For Center High School

Obituaries
JAMES RUSSELL MOORE
    James Russell Moore, 55, of Joaquin, died June 2, 2007 at his residence.  Burial was in Joaquin Cemetery.  Born August 17, 1951, in Arp, he was the son of Silas Rueben Moore and Vera May Moore.  Mr. Moore was self-employed Welder. He was preceded in death by his Father, Silas Reuben Moore.   Survivors include Michelle McCarley of Mt. Pleasant, Lori Moore of Lindale; Mother, Vera Moore of Joaquin; Brothers, J. D. Moore of Joaquin and Paul Moore of Logansport; SisterKathy Bayles of Dublin, Georgia.  Watson and Sons Funeral Home.
THOMAS LEE "BUSTER" MCMAHON
    Thomas Lee McMahon, 73, of Tenaha died June 4, 2007 in Shreveport.  Burial was in Ramah Cemetery, Tenaha.  Born November 6, 1933, in Center, he was the son of Luther McMahon and Nela Brittain McMahon.  Mr. McMahon was a veteran of the US Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his parents Luther McMahon and Nela Griffith  Survivors include, Wife, Elaine McMahon of Tenaha; Children, Tommy McMahon of Tenaha, Cindy Haltom of Tenaha and Stephen McMahon of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sisters, Clara Honea of Nacogdoches and Louise Green of Houston; Brother, Grath Griffith of Industry, Tincy Griffith and Waylon Griffith of Center, both of Center; Sister, Alma McMahon. Brothers, Norris McMahon, Martin McMahon and Calvin McMahon.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
ERCY RISINGER
    Erch Risinger, 82, of the Dunnigan Community, Shelby County, died June 5. 2007.  Burial was in East Hamilton Cemetery.  Born July 9, 1924, in San Augustine, she was the daughter of James Sowell and Allie Mae Wall Sowell.  Ms. Risinger was preceded in death by her Husband, Buren Risinger; Sister, Audrey Cox; Brother, Alfred Sowell.   Survivors include Son' Edward Risinger of Dunnigan Community.  Watson and Sons Funeral Home.
GERTRUDE "TRUDY" THOMAS
    Gertrude Thomas, 84, of Joaquin died June 5, 2007 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Burial was in Brookland Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born September 13, 1922, in Grapeland, Texas, she was the daughter of Willie Edward and Mary Ellen Foreman.  Ms. Thomas was a Bank Teller.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Mary Ellen Foreman; Sisters, Dorothy Lee Foreman and Lois Fay Kurylo; Brothers, Edward Odell Foreman and Ashton Foreman.   Survivors include, Sisters, Elizabeth Aline Loa of Keithville, Louisiana, Sadie Marie Pluckett of Joaquin; Brothers, Billy Foreman and Buel Forman Both of Logansport.  Watson and Sons Funeral Home.
