Annual Homecoming at Wimberly Cemetery will be Sunday June 16,2002.  The Sunday Singers will be there so come on down and bring a lunch.  We will be collecting funds for the upkeep of the cemetery and also for the installation of the new fence around the cemetery.  For more information call 936-368-2317 or 936-368-2492. My name is Capri Williams and my family is from Timpson, in Shelby County.  They have a cemetery next door to their house the "Timpson Colored Cemetery"  My great gf William, the son of a slave & master, is buried there, as well as his wife, Sarah Driver, the Driver & Hooper familes are "suppose" to be among the first black families to settle in Timpson. Looking for info on Timpson, & St Augustine, Panola Cty, where I believe my family were slaves.    Williams & Salter family on father side.  On mother's in Washington-on-the-Brazos, Washington Cty, Tx, looking for info on Coleman, Hunt, Johnson, Franklin families  Email cmays@attbi.com 2

CYNTHIA WILBURN---Cynthia Wilburn, 87, of Center died June 6, 2002 in Center nursing home.  Burial was in Duncan Cemetery. Born June 22, 1914, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Robert Willard and Ila Duncan Payne.  She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Wilburn.  Survivors include daughters, Louise Wagstaff and Judy Scarborough, both of Shelbyville; sons, Bobby and  Gary Wilburn of Joaquin, Gerald Wilburn of Orange, Price Wilburn of Center and Elmer Ray Wilburn, of Orange.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
LERA ALICE PARAMORE CRAWFORD---Lean Alice Crawford, 91, died June 2, 2002 in Lufkin.  Burial was in Tennessee Cemetery.  Born June 23, 1910, she was the daughter of C.H. and Ethel Foster Paramore.  She was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Tippett, Myra Crawford and LeVerne Hillen; brothers, Ragan, Alfton and Ben Paramore.  Survivors include daughters, Bobbye Jean Crawford Mays of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Bobby Marie Crawford Webb of Hawkins. 
SHERRY JOYCE HRIBAL SCHUMP---Sherry Schump, 55, of Houston, formerly of Center, died June 8, 2002.  Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery.  Born July 3, 1946, in Center, she was the daughter of Chester J. and Ivy Joy McSwain Hribal.  Survivors include her husband, Norton Schump of Houston; daughters, Cristen Green of Kansas City, Missouri and Shana LeeAnn Myers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Josh Schump of Houston; parents, Chet and Joy Hribal of Center; brothers, Jimmy Dean Hribal of Tyler and Chester J. Hribal, Jr. of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
SAM QUINN BAILEY---Sam Quinn Bailey, 40, of Timpson, died June 9, 2002 in Timpson.  Burial was in Corinth Cemetery.  Born August 5, 1961, in Pasadena, he was the son of Bobby and Iris Quinn Bailey.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Sam an Ellie Quinn of Timpson; sisters, Kathy Ramsey and Kim Brewer, both of Timpson.  Taylor Funeral Home.
LAURENA BELL JACOBS---Laurena Bell Jacobs, 89, of Sour Lake, formerly of Patroon, died June 8, 2002 in Beaumont.  Burial was in West Hamilton Cemetery.  Born January 6, 1913, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of C.J. and Nannie Gann Jamison.  Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her husband Joe Jacobs.  Survivors include sons Billy Joe Jacobs of Simsboro, Louisiana and Troy Wayne Jacobs of Sour Lake.  Mangum Funeral Home.
PAIRLEE ADAMS---Pairlee Adams, 97, of Timpson, died May 20, 2002 in Houston.   Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Timpson.  Born April 6, 1905, she was the daughter of Isaac and Allie Tillman.  Mrs. Adams is preceded in death by her husbands, D.B. Ross, Willie Fletcher and Dock Adams; sisters, Susie Watson, Annie B. Roquemore, Ruby Powers, Sarah Tillman and Carrie Bussy and sons, Sydney Fletcher and Wise B. Ross.  She is survived by brother, John Tillman; daughters, Willie Lee Fletcher, Lovie B. Goosby, Allie Sue Davis, all of Houston. Community Funeral Home.
LOU ROXIE ALLEN---Lou Roxie Allen, 82, of Center, died May 28, 2002 in Tyler.   Burial was in Westview Cemetery.  Born August 28, 1920, she was the daughter of Lucy Polly.  Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Allen, Sr. and daughter, Margaret Allen. Survivors include children, Raymond Allen, Jr. of Houston, Gwendolyn L. Allen, Garland J. Allen both of Center, Johnny L. Allen of Rochester, MN, Delories J. Williams, Kenneth R. Allen and Lou E. Allen, all of Center, Brenda F. Allen of Orange; sisters, Oree Moore of Beaumont and Ann Polley Johnson of Terrell.  Community Funeral Home.
SHIRLEY CRINER---Shirley Ann Kellum Criner, 63, died June 5, 2002.  Burial was in Bobo Cemetery. Mrs. Criner was preceded in death by two children, three brothers and parents.  She is survived by husband Earl Criner of Tenaha; sons, Gregory Criner of Arlington, Lawrence Criner of Ft. Worth and Kevin Criner of Ohio; daughters, LaVerne Blanton of Ft. Worth, Joy Criner Jones Rita Lindsey both of Athens; brothers, Lonnie Kellum of Mt. Enterprise, Thomas Kellum and James Kellum of Grand Prairie.  Hicks Mortuary.
MALISIA GLAZIER---Malisia Glazier died May 24, 2002. Burial was in Brittian Creek Cemetery.   Born May 12, 1908, she was the daughter of Jessie and Della Glazier.   Survivors include sister, Cleo Glazier of Center.  Community Funeral Home
LEE MCKINZIE---Lee McKinzie, 81, died June 9, 2002 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Mr. McKinzie was preceded in death by his daughter, Earnest McKinzie Cougler; parents William Albert and Nettie Pearl Dean McKinzie; and sister Bonnie Cabiness.   He is survived by wife, Hazel McKinzie of Center; son Mark McKinzie of Joaquin; brother, E. E. McKinzie of San Augustine.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
CLARA RUSHING---Clara Rushing, 87, died May 26, 2002 in Houston.  Burial was in St. John Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born June 12, 1914, she was the daughter of Jewel and Josephine Rushing.  Ms. Rushing is preceded in death by her parents Jewel and Josephine Rushing. Survivors include sons, Ira Jackson, Weldon McKeggler both of Houston, Leon Allen of Center and Jerry Lathan of Dallas; Sister, Koris King of Center.  Community Funeral Home.
W.L. TUTT--- W.L. Tutt, 72, died May 24, 2002 at Shelby Regional Medical Center. Burial was in Timpson Cemetery.  Born April 19, 1930 he was the son of Naomi Davis and Frank Tutt, Sr.  Mr. Tutt is survived by sons Jessie L. Tutt of Tenaha, Howard Tutt of Dallas; daughter, Wanda Tutt of Nacogdoches and Rodessia Soloman of Timpson. 
RUTH BONIOL MANGRUM---Ruth Mangrum, 82, of Center, died June 11, 2002 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Born September 8, 1919, in Nacogdoches, she was the daughter of James Denton and Cordia Hodges Williams.  Mrs. Mangrum was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter A. Boniol and Ernest Mangrum; daughter Mary Boniol Williams; infant son; two brothers and one sister. Survivors include son Clifton Boniol of Center, Mike Mangrum of Center; daughters, Norma Boniol Rudd of Center, Gay Nell Wilburn of Center, Janice Anderson of Center. Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
