Lula Belle Pierce David, 94, of Logansport, Louisiana, died June 12, 2014. Interment was in O. E. Price Cemetery, Logansport, Louisiana. She was born in Shepperd, Texas May 30, 1920 to Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Pierce. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, W. B. “Hookie” David; Daughter, Joyce Wooden; Son, Freddie Paul David; Son-in-law, Elwyn Ariola; Siblings, Doshie Fisher, Laurence Pierce, Sr., Frank “Red” Pierce, Essie “Dimples” Rogers. Survivors include, Daughters, Ozelle Ariola of Houston, Deborah Wilkinson & husband, Howard of Logansport, Louisiana.

Sarah JoAnn Chantland, 75, of Center, died June 12, 2014 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Center. Interment was in Clayton Cemetery, Panola County. She was born August 18, 1938 in Sheridan, Arkansas to John W. Ashcraft and Della Allen. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husbands, J. C. Henshaw, Dale Schuler, Clifford Chantland; Daughter, Nancy Ann Trevino; Brothers & Sisters, James Hershal Ashcraft, Glen Ashcraft, Opal Louise Holmes, Oma Blackwell, Frank Lee Ashcraft, Yuba Marie Freeman, Neggie Mae Bettis. Thomas Edward “Junior” Sparks, Jr., 91, of Timpson, Texas, died June 12, 2014, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment was in County Line Cemetery, Rusk, County. He was born March 4, 1923, in Rusk County, Texas to Thomas Edwin Sparks and Ora Lee Barnes Sparks. After graduating from Timpson High School, Junior served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Elma Brown Sparks, Son, Thomas E. “Eddie” Sparks, III; Brothers, Rayford Sparks, Lloyd “Pete” Sparks.
