New Stuff/Additions/Corrections

The Timpson class of 1967 is having a Class Reunion on July 4th during the Frontier Days activities. Please plan to meet at the Parade at 10:00 am in front of the Timpson/Tenaha News Office on the Square. After everyone is there, we will decide what to do from there. Not much time so pass the word around so we can get all our classmates there!!!!
 

The annual Homecoming and Memorial Day services for the Newburn Cemetery will be held on Saturday June 27, 2009 about 10:00 in the morning.  Everyone that has an interest in the cemetery or those buried there is invited to come and join us for our service and dinner on the grounds.

Louie Gaddys Fittz, 94, died June 22, 2009 in Keithville, Louisiana. Burial was in Wimberly Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born January 21, 1915 in Center to C.D. “Doug” Fittz and Adell Bailey Fittz. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Delmer Faye Snider Fittz; Brother, Kline Fittz. Survivors include, Son, Weldon Fitzz & wife Ophelia of Deweyville; Daughter, Phyllis Wagstaff & husband Glenn of Keithville, Louisiana; Brother, C.D. “Pete” Fittz, Jr. & wife Charlsie of Westlake, Louisiana; Sister, Odell Cannon & husband Jack of Shelbyville.

ELISA KATE JACOBS
Elisa Kate Jacobs, 83, of Shelbyville, died June 20, 2009 in Houston. Burial will be in Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas. She was born April 16, 1926 to Vester Lee and Edna Louise Lucas Ashby. She was preceded in death by her Parents. Survivors include, Husband, A.C. “Jake” Jacobs of Shelbyville; Daughters, Jeanie Lee Bryant of Cleveland, Susan Valentine of Horseshoe Bay, Penny Elisa Lighfoot; Son, Ronny Cecil Jacobs of Houston

DORIS FOLSOM JERNIGAN
Doris Folsom Jernigan, 87, of Bridge City, died June 14, 2009 in Bridge City. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born October 23, 1921 in Center to Nathan John B. Folsom and Sallie Ellen Smith Folsum. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Roby Calvin Jernigan; Sons, Guy Allen Jernigan, Rocky Dale Jernigan. Survivors include, Daughter, Patsy Ruth Bond and husband, Jimmy of Vidor; Son, Roby Spencer Jernigan and wife, Myrna of Garrison; Sisters, Stella B. Cobb of Houston, Arbell Reynolds of Frierson, La.

JUNIOUS "JUNE" SPURLOCK
Junious “June” Spurlock, 86, of Joaquin, died June 17, 2009 in Center. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born August 8, 1922 in Joaquin to Joel G. Spurlock and Essie Jones Spurlock. Mr. Spurlock proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include, Wife, Beth Hopkins Spurlock of Joaquin; Daughters, Betty McDaniel & husband Jerry of Joaquin, Sheila Fisher of Joaquin; Brother, Kenneth Spurlock & wife Lottie of Joaquin.

ARTHUR RYAN KOONCE
Arthur Ryan Koonce, 31, of Nacogdoches, Texas died June 23, 2009 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born April 20, 1978, in Nacogdoches, Texas to David Carlton and Beverly Koonce. He was in the United States Air Force from 1996-2000. He is preceded in death by his father, David C. Kounce. Survivors include, Mother, Beverly Koonce of Lufkin; Brother, Chris Koonce and wife, Malissa of Nacogdoches. He worked for the DPS for seven years in Nacogdoches County.
