AVIS SAMPLE
   Avis Sample, 77, of Shelbyville died June 19, 2003 in Center.  Burial was in Wimberly-Rayburn Cemetery. Born August 29, 1925, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Jack Snider and Nettie Anthony.   Ms. Sample is survived by daughters, Barbara Lindley and Vickie Martin, both of Shelbyville; son, David Sample of Center; brother, Buck Snider of San Augustine.   Mangum Funeral Home.
T.C. BRITTAIN
   T.C. "Pete" Brittain, 78, of Center died June 21, 2003 in Center. Burial was in Cedar Yard Cemetery.  Born February 4, 1925, in Center, he was the son of Ira and Liza Snider Brittain.  Mr. Brittain is survived by his wife Hazel Brittain of Center; son, Travis Brittain of Center; daughter, Barbara Richards of Silsbee; sister, Meadge Heller of Pennsylvania.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
NORRIS PHIPPS
   Norris Phipps, 64, of Tenaha died June 20, 2003 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Bogata Cemetery.  Born August 31, 1938, in Clarksville, he was the son of Vaudie and Vera Young Phipps.  Mr. Phipps was married to Wanda Lou Topping, and she preceded him in death.  He later married Rosa Kaulza.  He is survived by his wife Rosa Kaulza Phipps; son, Brad Phipps of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Janette Acevedeo of Gainsville; stepsons, Nathan Kaluza of Timpson and Arnold Kaluza; sister, jean Raulston of Paris; brother,  Kenneth Phipps of New Boston.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
MARY HELEN ADAMS
   Mary Helen Adams, 79, of Navasota died June 21, 2003 in Navasota.   Burial was in Rather Cemetery.   Born September 12, 1923, in Sarepta, Louisiana, she was the daughter of William Johnson and Winnie Herrick.  Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her husband Clarence R. Adams, Sr.  Survivors include sons, Clarence R. Adams, Jr. of Pasadena and Stanley G. Adams of Deer Park; daughter, Ginger Isenburg of Navasota; sisters, Dorothy Rogers and Juanita Laird, both of Pasadena; Freida Veazy of Ruston, Louisiana and Martha Jo Larkins of Arkansas; brother, John Allen Johnson of Shreveport, Louisiana.  Mangum Funeral Home.
WILLAIM GUY IHLO
   Willaim Ihlo, 76, of Center died June 22, 2003.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born October 16, 1926, in Carthage, Texas, he was the son of William Ihlo and Jennie Bunyard Ihlo.   Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Ihlo of Center; children, Janan Pigg of Houston, Roy Blackshear of Center, Pat Porter of Houston and Kristi Laverdure of Dallas; brother George Ihlo of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
BETTY LOU SANFORD
   Betty Lou Sanford, 73, of Center died June 24, 2003 in Center. Burial was in Borders Cemetery. Born December 13, 1929, in San Saba, she was the daughter of James William Moore, Jr. and Edith Grace Beck.  Ms. Sanford is survived by husband Brealon Sanford, Sr. of Center; son, Brealon Sanford, Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Edith Mae LeBlanc of Houston and Susan Joann Sanford of Center; sister Doris Shipman of Tucson, Arizona.  Mangum Funeral Home.
BILLY YARBOROUGH
   Billy Yarborough, 56, of Center died June 26, 2003 in his residence.   Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. born November 7, 1946, in Shelby  County, he was the son of William Alexander and T9C Prince Yarborough.  Mr. Yarborough is survived by his wife, Teresa Yarborough of Center; son, Richard A. Yarborough of Center; daughter, Rachell Jones of Center; sister, Retha Mize of Tenaha; brothers, Charles Yarborough of Timpson, Drenon Yarborough of Hemphill and Rogers Yarborough and Joe Yarborough, both of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
