New Stuff/Additions/Corrections

         The Netherly Family 13th Reunion will be held Friday, July 27, Saturday, July 28 and Sunday July 29, 2007 at the Community Center, 423 San Angustine St., Center, Texas. Friday, July 27th from 6:00pm - 7:15pm will be family fellowship/get acquainted; 7:30pm - 8:45pm dinner (fish fry); 9:15pm - 10:00pm will be the Netherly Family Feud game.  Saturday, July 28th from 11:00am - 12:30pm family business meeting; 12:35pm - 3:00pm lunch; games will begin at 1:45pm - 3:30pm.  Saturday Evening - 7:00pm - 10:30pm - modeling, talent show and dinner.  Sunday, July 29, 2007 - 8:00am -  9:00am church services "Todd Springs Baptist Church".       I am trying to locate any information on the Smiths and Caldwells of Shelby County. My father was James Caldwell Smith, my paternal grandmother was Mary Rebekah Caldwell Smith. My paternal grandfather was J N Smith, sheriff in Shelby County in 1921-1927.

Obituaries
FRANCES STRICKLAND HUTTO
    Frances Strickland Hutto, 81, of Grapevine and formerly of Shelby County died July 7, 2007.  Burial was in Ramah Cemetery.  Born September 11, 1925, she was the daughter of Clarence and Maybell Wilson Strickland.  Ms. Hutto was preceded in death by her parents and Husband, Earl Hutto.  Survivors include Son, Leon Hutto; Stepdaughters, Patricia Bossier and Earlene Peveto; Stepson, Bill Hutto; Brothers, Arney Strickland and Lloyd Strickland; Sister, Rebecca Bush.  Mangum Funeral Home.
MAUREEN HAYES
    Maureen Hayes, 94, of Center died July 9, 2007 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born June 26, 1913, in Center, she was the daughter of J. O. Ceal and Nancy Jane Edwards Ceal.  Ms. Hayes worked as a bookkeeper for Payne & Payne store.  She was preceded in death by Parents; Husband, Farish Hayes, Sr., Son, Fairsh Hayes, Jr.; Brothers, Willie Bryce, Amos Bryce, Emory Bryce, Lonnie Bryce, Marvin Bryce, Homer Lee Bryce, Elmo Ceal and Jewel Ceal.  Survived by Son, Zane Hayes of Tyler.  Mangum Funeral Home.
VALLIE BELL HARBISON
    Vallie Bell Harbison, 91, of Center died July 10. 2007 in San Augustine.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born November 29, 1915, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Duke Samford and Maggie Hughes Samford.  Ms. Harbison was preceded in death by Husband, Leon Harbison; Sisters, Bonnie Taylor and Brooksie Harbison.  Survivors include Daughter, Lynn Shofner of Center; Son, Everett Harbison of Center.  Watson and Sons Funeral Home.

    Edith Hulse, 99, of Rooston died July 10, 2007.  Burial was in Brookside Memorial Park, Houston.  Survivors include Daughters, Charlene Fountain, of Timpson, and Gaylene Epperson of Bryan; Stepdaughter, Phyllis Taylor of Corpus Christi; Stepson, Ira Hulse, Jr. of Colorado; sister, Fay Glisson of California.  Taylor Funer
