LaVerne Thruston, 92, of Center, died July 8, 2014 at Green Acres of Center. Interment was in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Martinsville, Texas. She was born in Pt. Arthur, Texas, on October 11, 1921. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Brittian Allen Thruston. Survivors include, Daughter, Laura Sue Butler Rowe & husband, Charles Rowe, of Center; Son, Martin Wallace Thruston & wife, Isabel, of Santa Barbara, California.

Frances Lee Ingram, 92, of Jasper, formerly Shelby County, died July 13, 2014 at Rayborn Healtcare & Rehab in Jasper. Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born June 16, 1922 in Lavon, Texas to Robert P. and Ada K. Trout Duke. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Carl Ingram, Daughter, Glonda Sharp.  Survivors include, Husband, Larry Squires of Jasper; Son, Douglas Koger & wife, Davina of Mesquite; Son-in-law, Ken Sharp of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Fred Carter Green, 79, of Shelbyville, died July 10, 2014 in Center. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. He was born August 31, 1934 in Shelbyville to Vessie Caraway Green and Mary Leigh Carter Green. He served his country in the United States National Guard. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Daughter, Susan Green; Sisters, Mary Ellen Sapp, Fay Green, Vernell Williams. J. Tom Steele, 78, of California, died July 8, 2014, in his home on his 78th birthday. A military service will be held July 17, 2014 at Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier, California. He was born in Center to J. T. and Docia Bishop Steele on July 8, 1936. He grew up in Timpson and Center and joined the Marines at a young age. Survivors include, Children, Jim, Debbie, and Tracy of California, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Local survivors include, Nephew, Charlie Mac Bussey; Nieces, Mary Lou Lout of Center, Barbara Windham of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Johnny Maurice Gee, 86, of Center, died July 10, 2014 at Twin Lakes Care Center in San Augustine. Interment was in Neuville Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born June 22, 1928 in Center to Sidney Gee and Bonnie Lucille Bailey Gee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
