OBITUARIES
JAMES A. BLACKMAN
   James A. Blackman, 89, of Joaquin died July 28, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Shreveport.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.  He was born January 23, 1919 in Joaquin to John & Jenna Blackman.  Survivors include, Wife, Loyce Maudell Blackman of Joaquin; Son, James Blackman of Spring; Daughters, Charlene Rogers of Joaquin, Maudell Bracewell of Spring and Galenda Lee of Joaquin; Sister, Ruth Jackson of Vidor.

ORBAN T. "O.T." SAMFORD
   Orban T. "O. T." Samford, 83, of Center died July 30, 2008.  Burial was in Waterman Cemetery in Shelby County. He was born January 27, 1925 to Simual Samford and Lula Edwards Samford.  Preceded in death by Wife, Christine Peace Samford.  Survivors include,  Sons, Greg Samford of Center, Max Samford of Bonham; Daughter, Jana Wright of Center.

TOMMIE NEWTON FENLEY
   Tommie Newton Fenley, 61, of Center died July 29, 2008 in Center.  Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery in Shelby County.  He was born December 24, 1946 in Center to Tommie Clifton "Sarge" Fenley and Mary Ellen Dillon Fenley.  Tommie served in the US Army from 1968-1971.  He retired from the Center Fire Department where he had been a fireman, Fire Chief and Fire Marshall.  Preceded in death by, Parents Tommie "Sarge" and Mary Ellen Fenley.  Survivors include, Wife, Leanna Fenley of Center; Sons, Jeremy Fenley of Center, Justin Fenley of Tyler; Brother, Benny Fenley of Center.

WALLACE COLEMAN
   Wallace Coleman, 74, of Center died July 29, 2008.  Burial was in Joaquin Cemetery.  He was born October 20, 1933 to Levere and Louise White Coleman.  Preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include, Wife of 56 years, Melba Walker Coleman of Center; Sons, Ronald Coleman of Houston, Marvin Coleman of Channelview.  Mangum Funeral Home
ELMER MC BRIDE
   Elmer McBride, 83, of Timpson died July 30, 2008 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Tennessee Cemetery in Shelby County.  He was born September 11, 1924 to Rual and Laura Durrett McBride.  Survivors include, Stepson, Jackie Lyles of Timpson; Sisters, Hazel Winfrey of Garrison, Sally Westbrook of New Braunfels; Brothers, Albert McBride of Cushing, George McBride of Nacogdoches, Jim McBride of Nacogdoches.  Laird Funeral Home
