I am looking for information on Robert Earl Black who was my great-grandfather.  He was born appx. 1875 in Tenn. and died 1951 in Shelby  County, Texas.  He was married on 19 August 1897 to my great-grandmother Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ann Smith; I have all the info I nee on Lizzie.  I would like any info on him or his parents. MATTHEW BERRY JOHNSON---Matthew Berry Johnson, 72, formerly of Timpson, died August 10, 2001 in Hughes Springs.  Burial was in Corinth Cemetery. Born February 22, 1930, he was the son of Bertis and Virgie Johnson.  Survivors include daughter, Shelia Driscoll of Cason; brothers, Laverl Johnson of Tatum, Leland Johnson of Longview, Allen Johnson of Carthage, Cleon Johnson of Tatum, Lester Johnson of Henderson; sister, Nelda Stephens of Dallas.   Taylor Funeral Home.
NELL RUSHING---Nell Rushing, 102, of Center died August 8, 2002 in Center. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, San Augustine County.  Born June 24, 1900, in San Augustine, she was the daughter of John Edward and Anna Eliza Berry Epps.  She was married to Oscar Rushing and Scheley Hobson Studdard and both preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughter-in-law, Alonzola Studdard of Carthage; step-daughter, Jean Milligan of Kerrville.   Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
MARTHA MOSS MENZIES---Martha Menzies, 55 of Center, died August 11, 2002 in Lufkin.  Burial was in San Augustine City Cemetery.   Born November 29, 1946, in Lubbock, she was the daughter of William and Kathleen Moore Moss.  Survivors include sons, William Harrison Menzies of Tyler and Grant Lee Menzies of Tyler; daughter, Kathleen Dawn Bailey of Center, and Brother William Stephen Moss, III of San Augustine.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home
THEO "PAT" THOMPSON---Pat Thompson, 80, of Shreveport, Louisiana, died August 11, 2002 in Shreveport.  Burial was in Old Home Cemetery.  born March 2, 1922, in Paxton, he was the son of Roy and Jennie May Thompson.  Survivors include brothers, Leroy Thompson of Fort Worth, Edward Thompson, of Livingston and Kenneth Thompson of Texas; sisters, Bennie Sanford of Shreveport, Betty Jo Barron of Springhill, Louisiana and Mary Beth Martin of Amarillo.  Mangum Funeral Home.
LOUISE MARIE WITCHER FOSTER---Louise Foster, 94, of Rockport died August 12, 2002 in  Aransas Pass.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson.  Born July 4, 1908, in Timpson, she was the daughter of E.W. and Eula Rhodes Witcher.  She is survived by son, James Foster of Rockport; sister, Mary Lee Witcher of Timpson.  Taylor Funeral Home.
MIRTIE ISROA HOLDER---Mirtie Isroa Holder, 92, of Center, died August 12, 2002 in Shelby Regional.  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery.  Born November 9, 1909, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of James and Isroa Holder Stewart.  Survivors include sisters, Clara Holder and Odell Brittain, both of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
GRACE HOLT COOK---Grace Holt Cook, 81, of Garrison died August 7, 2002 in Garrison Nursing Home. Burial was in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Timpson.  Born December 16, 1920, in Timpson, she was the daughter of Homer and Vera Hughes Holt.  She was married to Ray Cook and he preceded her in death.  Mrs. Cook is survived by sons, Lynn Anderson of Center and Larry Alexander of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother Homer Holt of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Lillian Cleveland of Epps, Louisiana.  Garrison Funeral Home.
JAN ELLEN FAIRCHILD MASSEY---Jan Massey, 48, of Houston, died August 22, 2002. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Ms. Massey was born December 24, 1953, in Woodville to Bob and Patsy Fairchild.  She is survived by her son Phillip Scott Massey of Shreveport, Louisiana; parents, Bob and Patsy Fairchild of Center; sister Karla O'Fiel of Vidor; brother David Fairchild of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
