at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 25, 2008 at T/R Steaks & More (formerly Golden Corral), 825 Hurst Street, Center, Texas. CORENE "RENE" DAVIS
    Corene "Rene" Davis, 104, died August 13, 2008. Burial was in St. John Cemetery. She was born November 15, 1903 to Mr. & Mrs. Aaron Pitts.  Preceded in death by, Husband, Felix "Bo" Davis; Sons, Clifton Davis, Theotis Davis.  Survivors include, Brothers, James "Jake" Pitts of Center, Travis Pitts of Oakland, Ca.; Sister, Elma Norris of Houston.   Hicks Funeral Home 
CARROLL RAY HERNDON
    Carroll Ray Herndon, 62, of Tenaha, died, August 20, 2008, in Nacogdoches. At Mr. Herndon's request, he has been cremated. He was born March 20, 1946 in Timpson to Edward Herndon and Evelyn Taylor Herndon. Preceded in death by his Parents. Survivors include, Wife, Karen Herndon of Tenaha; Daughters, Carol Ann Cockerham of Carthage, Melinda Ray Herndon of Tenaha; Sons, Joe L. Herndon of Austin, Michael Edward Herndon of Tenaha, Randy Wise of Marshall; Brother: Morgan Charles Herndon of Timpson.
GARY BRUCE EMANIS
    Gary Bruce Emanis, 52, of Center, died August 22, 2008, at his home. Burial was in Mt. Herman Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born October 22, 1955 in Center to Adron Emanis and Lurline Samford Emanis. Preceded in death by Father, Adron Emanis,
Brother, Tommy Gene Emanis. Survivors include, Wife, Sue Emanis of Center; Daughters, Jolene Pearce of Center, Candy Meyers of Mobile, Alabama; Mother, Lurlene Emanis of Center.

DR. JOE MC KEE, SR.
    Dr. Joe McKee, Sr., 91, of Farmersville formerly of Center, died August 25, 2008 in Farmersville, Texas. Burial will be in Wimberly Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born October 25, 1916 to Vessie Henry and Lula Bailey McKee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Preceded in death by Parents; Wife, Mary Evelyn Stanley McKee; Brother, Harry McKee. Survivors include, Sons, Jerry W. McKee of McKinney, Joe Bailey McKee, Jr. of Farmersville; Daughter, JoAnn Rubeck of Hedgesville, West Virginia.

    Oriena Victoria Tate Tatum, 70 of Center, died August 22, 2008 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Campti Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born June 5, 1938 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Woodrow Tate and Carrie Levon Chain Tate. Preceded in death by Parents; Son, Stephen Tatum. GENEVA M. PLEDGER
    Geneva M. Pledger, age 89, of Garrison, died August 25, 2008. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. She was born June 12, 1919, in Amity, Arkansas, to Marmon and Vada Lou Walker Pledger. GRADY WHITTON
    Grady Whitton, 86, of Center, died August 23, 2008 in Center. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born December 31, 1921 in Alto, Texas to James Eli Whitton and Mary Gertrude Patterson Whitton. Mr. Whitton served in the U.S. Cavalry during World War II as part of the Burma China Defensive. Preceded in death by Son, David Wayne Whitton. Survivors include, Wife, Catherine Whitton of Center; Brother, Paul Whitton of Conroe; Stepson, Paul L. Whitton.

MARLIE RAY VAUGHN
    Marlie Ray Vaughn, 74, of Huxley,died August 23, 2008 in Center. Burial was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born November 7, 1933 in Huxley to Austin Henry “Jack” Vaughn and Hazel Margaret English Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn served in the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by Parents; Brother, Darrell Vaughn.
