The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting September 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shelby County Museum located on Pecan Street. The speaker this month will be Mr. Bill O”Neal. He will be speaking to us about Texas in World War I. The program will consist of interviews he had students do with people that they knew who were in WWI when he was teaching history at Panola College. Everyone is invited to attend.

Bro. John Barney Richerson Jr., 76, of Timpson, Texas, died August 24, 2018 in Timpson. Interment was in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born November 23, 1941, in Houston, Texas, to John Barney Richerson Sr. and Selma Marie Hilligiest Richerson. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Sons, John B. Richerson III, Douglas Wayne Richerson; Brothers, Ernest Warneke, Clarence Warneke; Sister, Margaret Teague. Survivors include, Wife, Arnette Hicks Richerson; Daughters, Sheryl Pyle & husband Ronald of Cypress, Texas, Darla Andries & husband Martin of Carthage, Texas; Daughter in law, Karina Richerson Willhoite & husband Robin of Timpson, Texas.

CAROLYN SUE CAMPBELL BROWN
Carolyn Sue Campbell Brown, 81, of Longview, Texas, died August 25, 2018. Carolyn was born in Center, Texas, on August 24, 1937, to Emmitt and Twila Campbell. She graduated from Center High School with the class of 1956. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Mary Campbell Keeter. Survivors include, Husband, William A. (Bill) Brown, of Longview; Sons, Mike Brown & wife Ann of Tyler, Mark Brown of Allen, Texas, David Brown & wife Jeanna of Henderson.
