 The annual Bates Family reunion will be held Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the Jackson Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Joaquin, Texas.  Friends and relatives of the Larkin and Tempie Bates are invited to attend.  The doors will be opened at 10:30 a.m. and a covered dish lunch will be spread at noon.  For additional information contact Tommie Williams at 903-984-9053 or email her at tdw1428@yahoo.com

 The annual Sparks Family Reunion will be held Sat., Sept. 17, 2005, at the County Line Missionary Baptist Church. All descendants of Edmund Neeley and Mary Emma Martin Sparks are invited to attend. We will have lunch and  fellowship starting about 11:30 a.m. Drucilla Sparks Dickey

It's time for the Brady Reunion again on October 1, 2005.  All relatives and friends of Brady School Students are invited along with new arrivals to our community.  We will meet from 9AM  - 3PM at the Community House on San Augustine Street.  Bring mementos and pictures from the past and a dish for our noon meal.  Lillian and Johnnie  936-598-5388

 

CENTER HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING

It is time for Homecoming of Center High School.    September 30 thru October 2, The schedule for the occasions are:

  • CHS Roughrider Football game with Woodville High on Friday, September 30.
  • Alumni meeting Saturday October 1, at 9:00A.M. at the Cafetorium of the Middle School
  • Homecoming parade at 3:00P.M.
  • Saturday Evening -  the following classes will meet at various locations as planned by members of the classes.

Class of 1929 will meet at TR's Steak house for dutch treat on October 1 at 6PM.

Class of 1938 will meet at the Pizzeria at noon, October 1 to celebrate its 67th year. 

Class of 1945, 1946 will meet at TR's (formerly Golden Corral) for dutch treat lunch.  Contact Yvonne Loveladdy

LOYD BUEL JOHNSON
   Lloyd Buel Johnson, 84, of Washington died September 9, 2005.   Burial was Mt. Herman Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born may 16, 1921, he was the son of Ellis and Siddie Rebecca Wilson Johnson.  Mr. Johnson was a Veteran of WWII.  Survivors include daughters, Ouita Jones of Pasadena and Betty Johnson of Spanaway, Washington; son Loyd Buel Johnson, Jr. of San Augustine; brother, David Eugene Johnson of Tacoma, Washington.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
JUANITA JO KREISEL
   Juanita Jo Kreisel, 66, of Center died September 7, 2005 in Nacogdoches.  Cremation was requested.  Born June 23, 1939, in Towanka, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Charles J. and Ruby Guynn.  Mrs. Kreisel was a homemaker.   Survivors include husband Charles H. Creisel of Center; daughters, Kristine White of Kansas City, Missouri and Kimberly Billings of Oak Grove, Missouri.  Mangum Funeral Home.
DANNY FOLEY
   Danny Foley, 61, of DeBerry, Texas died September 10, 2005 in his residence.  Burial was in Willow Grove Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born April 24, 1944, in Tenaha, Texas, he was the son of Alton Dennis and Mamie Coyle Foley.  Survivors include his wife, Wynette Foley of DeBerry; mother, Mamie Foley; sons, Kie Foley Carthage, Texas and Kip Foley of Nacogdoches; sister, Cathy Gossett of Henderson, Texas.  Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home, Carthage. 
SARAH FALCONE
   Sarah Falcone, 90, died September 14, 2005 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Shelby County.   Born May 20, 1915, in Louisiana, she was married to Charles Martin Falcone, and he preceded her in death.   She leaves nieces and nephews.  Mangum Funeral Home.
JANIE REYNOLDS
   Janie Reynolds, 92, of Nederland, died September 13, 2005.  Burial was in Reynolds Cemetery.  Born July  13, 1913, she was the daughter of Claude Bert Wagstaff and Lula Ogden Wagstaff. Survivors include daughters, Shirly Harrington of Port Neches and Frances Byrd of Nederland; son, Garland Reynolds of Buna; brother Earl Wagstaff of Shelbyville.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
