The annual Windham reunion will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2004, in the Hospitality room of Texas State Bank, Haslam Texas.  Bring a covered dish.  Doors open at 10 am.  For more info contact mary@ram-tex.com


The descendants of C. C. Cain and their cousins will hold their annual reunion on Sunday, September 18th at Kurth Lake from 10:00 am until the last one leaves.  There will be a pot luck dinner served at about 1:00. For more information please e-mail Laura Clark at lauragc@yahoo.com        


The annual Bates Family Reunion will be held Saturday September 18, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Friends and relatives of the late Larkin and Tempie Bates are invited to attend.  The reunion will be held at the Jackson Baptist Church Fellowship hall in Joaquin.  Doors will be opened at 11:00 a.m.  A covered dish lunch will be spread at 12:15.  For more information please contact Tommie Williams 903-984-9053 or email her at tdw1428@ccsolisp.com

Obituaries
JEWEL STEPHENS SAMFORD
   Jewel Stephens Samford, 91, of Center died September 9, 2004 in Center.  Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  Born February 5, 1913, in Corsicana, she was the daughter of L.A. and Eunice Samford Stephens. Ms. Samford was a teacher in Center.  She was married to Gene Samford and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughter, Judy Hilton of Nacogdoches.  Mangum Funeral Home.
WILLIAM FRANK CRAWFORD, JR.
   William Frank Crawford, Jr., 67, of Tenaha died September 13, 2004 in his residence.  Burial was in Truitt Cemetery.  Born July 27, 1937, in Paxton, he was the son of William Frank Crawford, Sr. and Hallie Stephens Crawford.  Mr. Crawford was employed with International Paper.  He was preceded in death by his Parents, William Frank and Hallie Crawford.  He is survived by friends and cousins. Mangum Funeral Home.
FRED LEE BICKHAM
   Fred Lee Bickham, 87, of Plano died September 14, 2004 in Plano.  Burial was in Shelbyville Cemetery.  Born July 8, 1917, in Shelby County, he was the son of Jasper Lee and Etta Carroll bickham.  He had worked for United Gas Pipeline.  Mr. Bickham was married to Myron Owens Bickham and she preceded him in death.  Survivors include daughters, Shirley Smith of Dallas and Susan Sorrells of Plano; son, John David Bickham of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Billy Bryan of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
GENE LEE WRIGHT
   Gene Lee Wright, 79, of Center died September 15, 2004 in Center.  Burial was in Powdrill Cemetery.  Born March 30, 1925, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, She was the daughter of Albner Lee and Delena Parker Scroggins.  Mrs. Wright was a homemaker.  She was married to Tommy Wright, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include sons, Tommy Glen Wright of Center and Tipton Wright of Longview; daughters, Carolyn Masters of Gary, Gloria Dyer of Vinta, Oklahoma and Sarah Shan of Center; sisters, Sally McKinney and Julia DiAnn Reandnour, both of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
PRINCE MCCOWIN
   Prince McCowin, 94, died September 6, 2004.  Burial was in Bennett Chapel.  Born February 2, 1910, in Shelby County, he was the son of Austin and Melissa Sparks McCowin.  Mr. McCowin was preceded in death by Rushie Lee McCowin and two baby girls.  Survivors include children, Ireana Zarif of Chicago, Illinois, Eulac McCowin, Dorothy Randall of Houston, Enouch McCowin, Earnest McCowin of Detroit Michigan, Margie Nell Moore of Houston, Dasella Moore of Center, Charles Earl McCowin of Houston, Amos McCowin of Lubbock, Johnny Ray McCowin of Shelbyville, Denetta Rogers of Houston and Terri Jean McCowin of Longview.
