DAVID EUGENE BROTHERS
David Eugene “Salty” Brothers, 86, died September 09, 2013. Interment was in Buena Vista Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born in Stranger, Texas, August 18, 1927, to Robert T. and Sadie Brothers. Davis served his country in the U. S. Navy during and after World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; Sisters, Edna Fay Lindsey, Ethel Martyr; Brothers, Robert Brothers, Taylor Brothers. Survivors include, Wife, Martha Peters Brothers of Sugar Land, Texas; Sons, David Brothers, Jr., & wife, Ann of Sugar Land, Texas, Scot Brothers & wife, Kim, of Germantown, Tennessee; Brother, Billy Brothers of Dayton, Texas.
 
WALTER PERRY DAVIS
Walter Perry Davis, 52, of Joaquin, died September 13, 2013 at his home. Interment was in Sholar Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born May 05, 1961 in Upshur County, Texas to Lawrence Paul and Velta Faye Broadus Davis. He was preceded in death by, Father, Lawrence Paul Davis; Brother, Jerry Davis; Daughter, Ivy Davis.  Survivors include, Mother, Velta Bordner of Joaquin; Son, Buddy Paul Davis of Kilgore; Daughter, Stephanie Davis of Kilgore; Half sisters, Pamela Ringold of Bel Aire, Samantha Davis of Carthage, Buffy Davis.

Dorothy Pullen, 93, of Houston, died September 16, 2013 in Humble. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. She was born July 27, 1920 in Ackermann, Mississippi to James Thomas Power and Ethel Brewer Power. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, B. G. Pullen. Survivors include, Son, Dan Pullen & wife, Vickie of Houston; Daughter, Kathy Imfeld & husband, David of Choctaw, Oklahoma.

LT. COL. V. E. WILSON
Lt. Col. V. E. Wilson, USAF retired, 96, died September 6, 2013. He was born August 1, 1917. He was raised in Center and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. Following graduation in 1940, he joined the Army Air Corp Flying Cadet program. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in March 1942. He met his beloved Ann in 1945 when he was stationed at Boca Raton Army Air Field. They married less than a year later and their romance lasted 63 years. Col. Wilson served in the USAF for 24 years, retiring to Biloxi, Mississippi in 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents; Siblings; Wife, Ann Myers Wilson. Survivors include, Daughters, Jayne Stewart & husband, SMSgt Robert G. Stewart, USAF retired, Sue McCullough & husband, Russell; Grandchildren, Sara Pitey, Will McCullough, Ben McCullough.
