The annual Cockrell-Lilly Family Reunion will be held Saturday September 24th at the Texas State Bank, Haslam Branch Community Room.  Friends and relatives of the late William Henry and Marnie Lilly Cockrell are invited to attend.  A covered dish lunch will be spread at noon.  For any additional information contact Tommie Williams, 903-984-9053 or email her at tdw1428@yahoo.com

It's time for the Brady Reunion again on October 1, 2005.  All relatives and friends of Brady School Students are invited along with new arrivals to our community.  We will meet from 9AM  - 3PM at the Community House on San Augustine Street.  Bring mementos and pictures from the past and a dish for our noon meal.  Lillian and Johnnie  936-598-5388


CENTER HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING

It is time for Homecoming of Center High School.    September 30 thru October 2, The schedule for the occasions are:

  • CHS Roughrider Football game with Woodville High on Friday, September 30.
  • Alumni meeting Saturday October 1, at 10:00A.M. at the Cafetorium of the Middle School
  • Homecoming parade at 4:00P.M.
  • Saturday Evening -  the following classes will meet at various locations as planned by members of the classes.

Class of 1929 will meet at TR's Steak house for dutch treat on October 1 at 6PM.

Class of 1938 will meet at the Pizzeria at noon, October 1 to celebrate its 67th year. 

Class of 1945, 1946 will meet at TR's (formerly Golden Corral) for dutch treat lunch.  Contact Yvonne Loveladdy

Class of 1955 -- 50 YEARS--  will meet at Sam Samford Masonic Lodge on San Augustine Highway on October 1 at 6PM.  The class will be recognized at Alumni Meeting at 9AM

Class of 1960 will meet at Center Motor Co. 220 Shelbyville St at 6PM
 

Class of 1965 needs current addresses of classmates for their 40th year. Contact Peggy Bryan Monk at 936-598-2911.

Class of 1980 will meet at Fredonia Hotel, Nacogdoches on October 1,

Class of 1985 will meet at Harry's Bar-B-Que on Saturday, October 1, at 7P.M. Contact Yondi Watson 598-2402.

QUINTON CORDER
   Quinton Corder, 93, of Mt. Enterprise died September 15, 2005 .  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County.  Mr. Corder was born June 26, 1912, in Shelby County.  Survivors include daughter Bettye Slovacek of LaPorte; sisters, Dorothy Sears Hood of Henderson and Gladys Babbs of Louisiana; brother, Roscoe Corder of Pasadena.  Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home, Henderson.
SCOTTY LLOYD FLEMING, II
   Scotty Lloyd Fleming, II,  38, died September 16, 2005 at his residence.  Cremation was requested.  Born August 22, 1966, Scotty  and Wanda Bailey Fleming.  He was preceded in death by his brother, James Shannon Fleming Mr. Fleming was a Millwright.  Survivors include mother, Wanda bailey Fleming of Shreveport; father, Scotty Fleming of Center; sister, Searmon Fleming Swindler.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
LOTTIE ESTELLE TYER
   Lottie Estelle Tyer, 90, of Groves died September 16, 2005 at her residence.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson.   Born July 25, 1915, in Rehobeth Community, she was the daughter of George and Myrtis Wright Rhodes.  Mrs. Tyer was married to Eugene Tyer, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include son, Edward Tyer of Spring; daughters, Paula Philen of Kingwood and Janis Epperson of Groves.  Taylor Funeral home.
HANSON C. "HOSS" ANDREWS
   Hanson C. Andrews, 81, of Center died September 19, 2005.  Burial was in Neuville Cemetery.  Born December 16, 1923, in Enterprise, Alabama, he was the son of Ewell Andrews and Florence Adams Andrews.  Mr. Andrews was a Veteran of WWII and employed with Santa Fe RR.  He was married to Rosene Andrews, and she preceded him in death.  Survivors include daughters, Debby Snider of Tenaha and Connie Spann of Ceter; sons, Rickey Andrews of Center and Charles Ray Andrews of Cleveland; sisters, Clara Wiggins and Grace McKinney, both of Longview.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
