OBITUARIES

 

LEONA LAWSON
Leona Lawson, 96, died September 7, 2021, at RollingBrook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Baytown, Texas.  In honoring Leona’s requests, a private family graveside service was held at Antioch Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born  February 21, 1925, in Runge, Texas to Emil and Mary Prasek Krauskopf.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband; 3 Brothers; Son-in-law, Johnny Parker.  Survivors include, Daughters, Mary Jane Parker, Carol Emanis & husband Dwayne; Sister, Lily Mae Harrison; Sisters-in-law, Georgia Krauskopf, Ruby Hughes, Wynell Lawson, Nadine Lawson, Clydie Lawson.
Services are under the direction of Sterline White Funeral Home.

MARCUS YARBROUGH
Marcus Yarbrough, 45, of Center, died September 14, 2021, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Antioch Cemetery, Timpson, Texas.  He was born May 28, 1976, in Houston, Texas.  He was preceded in death by, Father, Darryl Yarbrough.  Survivors include, Wife, Lakeoka Yarbrough; Children, Ja’Tiea, TraMarcus, Twyncela; Mother, Bobby Joyce Yarbrough; Brother, Dominique Yarbrough; Sister, Demetria (Tyrone) Johnson.
Services are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson.

BRUCE HOWARD DENBY
Bruce Howard Denby, 70, died September 17, 2021, in Gary Texas.  Interment was in  Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born August 21, 1951.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969.  He was preceded in death by, Parents, Clifford Reeves and Versie Denby; Brothers, Weldon, Jack, Cliff, Jr.; Sister, Beatrice.  Survivors include, Wife, Carolyn; Children, Brian Denby & wife Brandi, Chris Denby, Brad Denby & wife Shannon, April Campbell & husband Justin, Keni Jo Biggar; Brothers-in-law, Tommy Ishee & wife Vickie, Garry Ishee & wife Karen; Mother-in-law,  Annie Jean Barbe.

DAVID WAYNE SMITH
David Wayne Smith, 47, of Center, died September 18, 2021, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Smith Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born June 15, 1974, to  Clyde Smith and Barbara Jean Baker Smith.  Survivors include, Parents; Daughter, Laurel Ann Smith (Melony Anderson); Sons, Tristan Wayne Smith (Chris Reyna), Nickolas Blane Smith (Ivorie Cook); Sisters, Laurie Lee Miller, Diana Lyn Burch; Brothers, Michael Mayo (Patsy), Joe Smith; Mother-in-law, Deborah Jones; Brother-in-law, Timothy Murphy.

Jo Ann Barbee Rushing, 71, of Center, died September 20, 2021, in Center, at her home.  Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, San Augustine County.  She was born September 3, 1950, in Shelby County, to Archie Talmage Barbee and Faye Holland Deason Barbee.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sisters, Linda Barbee Couglar, Beverly Walker; Brothers, Bo Barbee, William Marshall Barbee, John T. Barbee, Bobby Barbee.  Survivors include, Husband, Hugh W. KYLE GLENN BUSH
Kyle Glenn Bush, 51, of Timpson, died September 20, in Tyler after a long, hard fight with Covid.  Interment was in Mt. Herman Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born in Center on January 7, 1970 to Elton “Bubba” and Nancy McIver Bush.  He was preceded in death by, Infant daughter, Kylie Bush; Father-in-Law, Doyle Ramsey.  Survivors include, Wife, Carla Bush of Timpson; Son, Keaton Bush of Timpson; His princess, Kaylie Bush of Timpson; Parents, Bubba and Nancy Bush, of Center; Brother, Kevin Bush & wife Brooke, of Elkhart; Sister-in-law, Connie McSwain of Timpson; Mother-in-law, Imogene Ramsey, of Timpson.

RHONDA LEE SOTO
Rhonda Lee Soto, 62, of Timpson, died September 16, 2021, in Nacogdoches.  Interment was in Powdrill Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born March 23, 1959, in Elkhart, Indiana, Roland Smith and Leahoma Holt Smith.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include, Husband, Ralph Soto of Timpson; Children, Christina Curtis of Anchorage, Alaska, Karla Jean Bright of Timpson, Rafael Soto of Timpson; Sister, Diane Ladd of Battle Creek, Michigan.

LENA R. WILLIAMS
Lena R. Williams, 100, of Garrison, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, in Garrison, Texas. Interment was in Smyrna Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born Sept. 22, 2021 in Timpson, Texas. 

GENE WARR
Gene Warr, 86, of Gulfport, Mississippi, died September 11, 2021.  He was born July 3, 1935 in Center, Texas to Robert and Annie Lee Warr.  He will be remembered as a member of the Four Mints along with his brother, Al and friends, Aubie McSwain and James Paul Wilson.  The quartet performed to great acclaim at the finest venues across the nation, including the famed Palace Theater and Copacabana in New York, the Sands in Las Vegas and the major supper clubs of the era.  He was preceded in death by, Parents, Robert and Annie Warr; Brothers, Henry Earl, Robert Oren and Alden Lee Warr.  Survivors include, Wife, Kay; Son, Brent Warr & wife Laura; Daughter, Gena Cook & husband Daniel.
