The Shelby County Historical Society and Museum will have our October Meeting on Tuesday October 18, 2016 at the Museum at 2:00 p.m. Judge Bennie Boles will be the speaker.  He will either talk about his Football Career at Center High School and Sam Houston State University or possible an old interesting jury trial in which he was over. Everyone is invited to attend and also see our new display of Sports Memorabilia, and other things.

NAMON KING
Namon King, 64, of Shelbyville, Texas, died October 3, 2016 at Shreveport Manor Nursing Facility of Shreveport, Louisiana. Interment will be in Rather Cemetery, Shelby County. Survivors include, Daughter, LoYanda Kenyatta King (Shomari Shanks) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Sister, Alice K. Blunt of Shelbyville, Texas; Aunts, Joyce Ann Cartwright, Cassie Mae Cartwright of Shelbyville, Texas.

MARVIN SPECTER
Marvin Specter, 93, of Missouri City Texas, died October 4, 2016 as his home.  Mr. Specter wishes were to be cremated, so there will be no funeral service. He was born September 21, 1923 in Omaha Nebraska to Molly Rosensky and Barney Specter. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Sonny Specter, Norman Specter. Survivors include, Wife, Lee Specter; Sons, Phillip Specter & wife, Jacquiline of Goree, Texas, Tom Specter & wife, Rose of Center, Texas; Sisters, Birtie Susman of Longbeach, Florida, Sally Schwartzberg of Houston, Texas,
Maxine Rapp & husband, Don Rapp of Arlington, Texas; Brother, Max Specter of Fort Worth, Texas.
PAT TUCKER
Pat Tucker, 92, of Center, died October 1, 2016, at her residence. Interment was in Newburn Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born February 4, 1924, in Center, to Joe Jordan and Grace Truman Alford Jordan. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Francis Tucker; Son, Rickey Edward Tucker; Sister, Mildred Verdine.  Survivors include. Daughters, Kathey Tucker of Center, Cora Love Everage of Austin, Camille Tucker of St. Louis, Missouri; Son, Francis Hendrick Tucker of Springfield, Missouri.
