WILLIAM A. FOIL---William Foil, 88, of Center died October 10, 2002 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born April 30, 1914, in Eddie, he was the son of William and Melissa Florence Miller Foil.  He was married first to Virginia Warren Foil and he preceded her in death.  Mr. Foil is survived by wife, Doris Foil of Center; son, Bill Foil of Overland Park, Kansas; daughters, Adelene Howell of Fort Worth, Delores Wells of Claremore, Oklahoma and Melody Caudle of Center; sister, Juanita Andrews of Plano; steps, Jim Hall of Baytown and Ron Hall of Henderson.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
LOURICE H. SMITH--- Lourice Smith, 74, of Ringold, Louisiana, died October 9, 2002 in Coushatta, Louisiana.  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Center.  born November 6, 1927, in Shelby County, he was the son of Walter and Samantha Renfro Hicks.  Mr. Smith is survived by sons, James Smith and Billy Smith, both of Joaquin, Kenneth Smith of Ringgold, Louisiana, Benny Joe Smith of Center; sisters, Nine Mae Crawford of Vidor, Maurice Page of Timpson and Verline Sumistine of Aiken Community.  Mangum Funeral Home
LEON EAVES---Leon Eaves, 78, of Center, died October 12, 2002 at his residence in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born August 13, 1924, in Shelby County, he was the son of Carl and Geneva Satterwhite Eaves.  He was preceded in death by his son Regan Eaves.  Mr. Eaves is survived by his wife Lee Ola Eaves; sons, David Eaves of Joaquin, George Eaves of Center and Randy Eaves of Kilgore; sisters Maggie Adams of Center and Mildred Pierce of Nacogdoches. EARL DINKINS---Earl Dinkins, 87, of Shelbyville, died October 14, 2002 in Shelby Reginal Hospital.  Burial was in Rather Cemetery.  Born August 11, 1915, in Shelby County, he was the son of Wright and Sarah Della Murphy Dinkins.  Mr. Dinkins was preceded in death by his wife Edith Bartle Dinkins.  Survivors include daughters, Earlene Drennan and Ann Butler, both of Shelbyville; sister, Maudiss Miles of Jasper.   Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
KALEB MATTHEW GROCE---Kaleb Matthew Groce, Infant, died October 8, 2002 in Galveston.  Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery.  Born October 3, 2002, he was the son of Matthew and Emily Groce.  Master Groce is survived by his parents Matthew and Emily Groce of Timpson; brother, Hayden Groce of Timpson; maternal grandparents, Herman and Nancy Stephens of Timpson; paternal grandparents, Bob and Sally Groce of Garrison, Ray Maxwell of Lufkin, Virginia Maxwell of Taylor. 
CLAUDE EDWARDS---Claude Edwards, 85, of Center, died October 7, 2002.  Burial was in Westview Cemetery.  Born February 2, 1917, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Manda Jones and Gilbert Edwards.  Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by son James E.Edwards and daughter, Jacquline Ann Edwards McCollister. He is survived by his wife Dara Edwards; son, Claudie Ray Edwards of Houston and Joseph J. Edwards of Spring; Daughters, Dorothy F. Baily of Dallas, Missionary Margarett Brisco of Honolulu, Hawaii, LaDale Tombs Brown of Houston, Maggie Bryant of Missouri City, Texas, Lula Mae Evans of Mercede, California, Bulah Ann Hamilton of Copperas Cove, Texas and Mary Ann Owens of Center.  Community Funeral Home.
