Jessie Salter, 92, of Village Mills, formerly of Shelby County, died December 5, 2011 at his residence. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born February 13, 1919 in Grigsby to parents, Rubin Richard and Stellar Fults Salter. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Daughter, Freida. Survivors include, Son, Quinn Salter & wife, Crystal of Village Mills, Son, Ron Salter & wife, Carmen of Duncanville; Daughter, Jessie Smith of Center; Sisters, Mavis Hix and Lenny Coolbaugh of Commanche, Texas.

Mary Lynn Raybourn, 87, of Tenaha, died December 2, 2011 in Houston. Burial was in Ramah Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born on January 21, 1924 in Gary, to Aaron Thomas and Jane Cox Thomas. She was preceded ion death by, Parents; Son, Michael Lynn Bowlin. Survivors include, Daughter, Terri Raybourn of Houston; Son, Scott Bowlin of Dallas; Sister, Ollie Mae Mensi of Willis.

Alexander Martin Sonier, 81, of Timpson, Texas, died December 4, 2011 in Timpson. Burial was in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born August 04, 1930, in Beaumont, Texas to Moise and Bertha Brown Sonier. Mr. Sonier retired from the U.S. Navy after serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Olin Sonier; Sisters, Anitha Hitchcock, Lois Jolin. Survivors include, Wife, Janie Sonier of Timpson; Son, James Sonier of Jacksonville, Florida; Daughters, Sheila Adams of Garden Grove, California, Anne Sonier, Lydia Sonier, and Robin Wells, all of Houston; Step-daughter, Debra Merrick of Houston; Sister, Evelyn Thompson of Lubbock, Texas.

She was born March 23, 1936 in Vivian, Louisiana to Herbert Lincoln and Vera Inez Byrd Brieny. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Half-brother, Paul “Freeman” Brieny. Survivors include, Husband, Lester Barber; Son, Shane Barber & wife, Candace of Center; Daughter, Lynn Barber of Joaquin; Sister, JoVeta Jones & husband, Buddy of Bossier City; Brother, Murdock “Dock” Brieny.
