Bettye Barlow, 80, of Center, died December 14, 2013 in Lufkin. Interment was in Buckner Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born October 7, 1933 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Peano Norried and Melva Hayes Norried. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Step Mother, Truschel Norried. Survivors include, Husband, Bobby Barlow of Center; Daughters, Cindy Theut & husband, Steven of Cypress, Denisa Barlow of Center; Sons, Roy Dale Marshall of Huntsville, Jimmy Barlow of Phoenix, Arizona; Sister, Joy Bratton & husband, Morris of Carrollton.

Eldon Ray “Skip” Hendrix II, 29, of Center, died December 4, 2013 in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. Interment was in St. Paul Cemetery, Pelican, Louisiana. He was born on April 22, 1984 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Eldon Hendrix, Sr. and Carolyn Hendrix-Moore. He was a member of the Center High School graduation class of 2002.  He served his country in the U. S. Armed Forces during the Iraqi War. Survivors include, Parents, Carolyn & Jeremy Moore and Eldon Hendrix, Sr.; Children, Jakaden Nash-Hendrix, Jakaila Swindle, DeQuaylon Hendrix, Semaria Hendrix, Eldon Hendrix III, Kimorah Williams, Taraji Hendrix, Christian Hendrix; Siblings, Terrance & Rokesha Allen, Heather Hendrix, Jaquala Moore, Janequia Moore.

Amanda Dell Hanna, 39, of San Augustine, Texas, died December 13, 2013 in San Augustine. Interment was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born December 2, 1974 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Roy Lee Tindol and Brooksie Gailen Griffin Tindol. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Susan Tindol. Garrett, Sr. and Dortha Thompson Garrett, of Shelbyville , Texas. Dorothy Jean was preceded in death by, Parents; One Brother; One Sister. Survivors include, Brother, Howard Ray (Mary) Garrett; Sisters, Clem (Willie Ira) Lathan, Wonda Faye (Charles) Miller, Mary Catherine Thompson; Aunt, Ozell Garrett.
Joyce Hardy, also known as Mama Joyce, 83, of the Patroon Community, Shelbyville, Texas, died December 16, 2013 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur.  Interment was in Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens, San Augustine County. She was born July 4, 1930 in San Augustine County to Walter and Myrtis Horn Williams. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Lamar “Coot” Hardy; Sister, Wylma Jean Williams; Brothers, Royce Williams, Edgar Williams, Vernis Williams. Survivors include, Children, Kenneth Hardy & wife, Kathy of Center, Wylma Hardy Beckham & husband, Delbert of Center, Richard Hardy & wife, Cheryl of Harleton, Laurel Hardy Daily & husband, George of Bridge City.

Robert Leslie Clifford, Jr. DVM, 92, died December 17, 2013 at the family farm. Interment was in Panola-Mt. Zion Cemetery. He was born July 18, 1921, in Panola County, Texas out of DeBerry, to Robert L. Clifford and Mabel Tiller Clifford. Whether you knew him as “Sonny” as his relatives did, “Bobby” (classmates), “Cliff” (fellow servicemen), “Doc” (business associates), or “Bob” (adult friends), you always knew where he stood and what he stood for. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Willie. Survivors include, Son, Robert L. “Rob” Clifford III &wife, Vicki, of Santa, Fe, New Mexico; Daughter, Rev. Carol Clifford Turner & husband, David Turner of Palestine, Texas.
