OBITUARIES

PAUL GENE RISINGER
Paul Gene Risinger, 85, of Shelbyville, died December 25, 2023. Interment was in Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery.  He  was born April 1, 1938, in a Milam, Texas, to Oscar Paul Parrish and Gertrude Reynolds.  He served his country in the Marines.  He was in the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, India Company as an expert rifleman, expert sharpshooter, good conduct medal, and was an honor guard in the 1959 Rose Bowl parade.  He was preceded in death by, Mother; Father; Adopted father, Nath Risinger; Son, Rory Risinger, Sr. of San Augustine; Daughter-in-law, Tammy Risinger of Six Mile; Son-in-law, Paul Chisum of Orange.  Survivors include, Wife, Sandy; Half-brother, James Ray Risinger and wife Mary Kay of East Hamilton; Sons, Brian Kyle and wife Sherry of Lone Star, Bobby Kyle and wife Cindy of Huntsville, Kris Risinger of Shelbyville; Daughters, Ramona Chisum of Orange, Rebecca Green of Huntsville, Robyn Soto and husband, Rafael of Broaddus.

Services are under the direction of Heritage Oak Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas.

EDNA GAY KENNON
Edna Gay Kennon, 90, of Center, Texas, died December 26, 2023, in Tyler, Texas.  Interment was in Clever Creek Cemetery, Shelby County.   She was born on November 11, 1933, in Center, Texas, to Norman Nathaniel Sigler and Ola Gay (Howard) Sigler.  She graduated from Shelbyville High School.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, Drue Edwin Kennon, Sr.; Son, Richard Kennon; Parents; Son-in-law, Gordon Welch; Brothers, Charles Sigler, Robert Sigler, Larry Sigler, James Sigler, Jerry Sigler, Kenneth Sigler; Sisters, Johnnie Whitton, Elaine Franke, Wanda Rychlik; Brothers-in-law, Freddie Franke, Joe Rychlik; Sister-in-law, Doris Sigler. Survivors include, Sons,
Drue Edwin Kennon Jr. and wife Maureen, Garland Eugene Kennon, Robert Emanuel Kennon; Daughter, Deborah Elaine Welch; Brothers, Billy Sigler and wife Geri, Jeff Sigler; Sisters, Frances Nettles and husband Tommy, Joann Andrews; Daughter-in-law, Judy Kennon; Brother-in-law, E.J. PORTIA COX
Portia “Mimi” Cox, 74, of Groves, Texas, died December 22, 2023, in Groves, Texas.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center.  She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on August 26, 1949, to Nolan and Lucille Doland.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Joe Cox, and her three sons, Lacy Cox, Stacy Cox, and Tracy Cox.  She is survived by her dog, Junior Cox, and her many friends, who have grown to love her as family over the years.

JAMES TRAVIS ADAMS
James Travis Adams, 92, of Wolfe City, died December 21, 2012, at his home.  Interment was in DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.  He was born on July 23, 1931 in Center, Texas to William Walter and Linda Louise (Humphries) Adams. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.  He went by many names: Son, to William Walter and Linda Louise Humphries Adams.  Grandson, to his Humphries grandparents with whom he spent so many summers in Center, Texas. Husband, to my mother for nearly 40 years before they separated and divorced. Husband, for a 2nd time, to the kindest woman who treated him with love and compassion. Friend, or J.T., to many who he worked with at Delta Airlines upon completing his military service. Friend and Neighbor, to many in the Greenville & Wolfe City areas. Grampa, to 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson. And, Dad, to one very fortunate daughter.
Services are under the direction of Lynch Funeral Homes and Memorial Park in Greenville, Texas.

FREDRICK O’KEITH CHIMNEY
Fredrick O’Keith Chimney, 57 of Timpson, died December 25, 2023 at his home in Timpson.  Interment was in Mt. Moriah Cemetey, Garrison, Texas.  He was born on September 24, 1966 to Frankie Lee and Jessie Faye Grace Chimney in Nacogdoches, Texas.  He was preceded in death by, Mother-in-law, Joeverlyn Driver.  Survivors include, Wife, Krystal Chimney; Daughter, Ke’Shawna Chimney; Parents, Frankie Lee and Jessie Faye Chimney; Brothers, Jaworski (Tammy) Chimney, Lester Parks, Johnathan Bussey, Tuffie Green; Sisters, Shareka Johnson (Terry), Shidedra Rayj (Garrick); Father-in-law, Michael Driver.

SPENCER LLOYD YARBROUGH
Spencer Lloyd Yarbrough, 83, of Wills Point, Texas, died December 24, 2023. Interment was in White Rose Cemetery, Wills Point.  He was born on May 11, 1940, in Center, Texas, to Eugene Yarbrough and Lucille Christopher Yarbrough. He graduated from Center High School in 1958.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Troy, Kenneth, Joseph.  Survivors include, Son, Chris Yarbrough and wife Mary; Daughter, Sonya Duffer and husband Taylor; Brother, Bruce Yarbrough; Sister, Lagene Smoak and husband Jerry.

REBECCA HARDIN
Rebecca (Becky) Hardin, 67, died December 25, 2023, at her home in Timpson Texas.  Interment was in Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Gary, Texas.  She was born to parents Johnny Dee and Cacilie Busalt Adams on June 11, 1956, in Fort Knox, Kentucky.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, Mike Hardin; Father; Brother, Johnny Dee Adams, Jr.  Survivors include, Mother, Cacilie Adams of Timpson; Brother, James Adams and wife, Kathy of Apopka, Fl.

BRENDA PARKER
Brenda Parker, 63, of Tenaha, Texas, died December 29, 2023, at her home in Tenaha. Interment was in Restland Cemetery, Shelby County.   She was born on October 15, 1960, in Center, Texas, to Jasper Newton Welch and Dorothy (Ferguson) Welch.  She graduated from Center High School, class of 1979. Brenda was preceded in death by, Husband, Frank Alan Parker; Parents; Sister, Peggy Welch Stagg.  Survivors include, Sons, Frank Alan Parker II and wife Bekah, Brad Parker and wife Season; Daughter, Danielle Parker-Adams and husband Michael; Brother, Mike Welch.

ROBERT CRUMP
Robert "Bob" Crump, 87, of Timpson, Texas, died January 02, 2024. Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born February 08, 1936 at home in the Silas community on Feb. 8, 1936. He was preceded in death by, Parents, Joe and Minnie Anderson Crump; Daughter, Laura Tremaine; 6 siblings.  Survivors include, Wife, Judy Crump; Children, Lisa Garrett, and husband, Brad, Mark Crump, and wife, Karen, Terri Strahan, and husband, Kevin, Avery Wedding; Brother. Billy Joe Crump and wife, Linnie.

LEE OLA EAVES
Lee Ola Eaves, 95, of Center, died January 2, 2024, in Center.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center.  She was born September 28, 1928, to Henry and Minnie Ola Spells. She graduated from Center High School.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, Carl Leon Eaves; Son, Reagan Lee Eaves; Parents; Brothers, John B. and Sue Spells, James and Lerlene Spells, Walter and Irene Spells, Henry David and Dollie Spells, Billy Don Spells; Sisters, Cora Mae and Kermit McSwaine, Norvell “Pee-wee” and Harry Holt (AJ Williams), and Zettie and Robert Barnett.  Survivors include, Sons, David and Pattie Eaves, George and Lisa Eaves, Randy Eaves; Daughter, Michelle and Darrell Whiteside.

Steve E. BEVERLY A. GARRETT
Beverly A. Garrett, 69, died December 22, 2023 in Palestine, Texas. She was born June 5, 1954 to mother Lucille Garrett and father Does James Garrett.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sister, Doris Ann Garrett; Brother, Robert Garrett.
