The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting February 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. The meeting this month will be held at the Shelbyville Methodist Church. Our guest speaker this month will be Ms Merle Howard.  She will speak to us about the history of the church. Everyone is invited to attend.

DAVID EARL “PETE” PIKE
David Earl “Pete” Pike, 77, of Timpson, died January 17, 2017 at his home. Interment was in Tennessee Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born July 6, 1939, in Gary, Panola County, Texas, to Elbert and Artie Birdwell Pike. He graduated from Timpson in 1958. He served his country in the U. S. Army. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Joe Pike, Carol Lynn “Cotton” Pike; Sisters, Jimmie Lou Curbow, Peggy Ruth Hodges. Survivors include, Wife, Tempie Green Pike; Daughter, Christina Rena Pike of New Orleans, Louisiana; Stepdaughter, Tara Rogers & husband, Gene of Columbus, Ohio; Stepson, Rusty Brunson & wife, Jacqueline of New Braunfels, Texas; Sister, Patsy Rogers of Conroe, Texas.

Rayford Kelle Lamkin, 85, of Center, died January 18, 2017 at Colonial Pines Nursing Home in San Augustine. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born March 19, 1931 in Center to W. C. “Cade” and Lucille Sanford Lamkin. He graduated from Center High School in 1949. He served his country in the U. S. Army.
