Willie Lee Page Thomas, 102, of Timpson, died January 23, 2023 at Willowbrook Nursing in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in Smyrna Cemetery, Timpson.  She was born January 8, 1921, to Pearl and Randall Page in Garrison, Texas.  She was preceded in death by, Mother, Pearl Page; Father, Cleveland Page; Brothers, Cootie, Willis, Travis, Robert Lee, Roy Lee; Sisters, Ethel Lee, Ann Lois; Sons, Alford Ray, Clevester.  Survivors include, Children, Early Thomas (Laverne) of Jackson, TN, Shirley Adams of Timpson, Billy Waye Thomas of Timpson.

SHIRLEY RUTH RUSHING
Shirley Ruth Rushing, 85, of Center, died January 19, 2023 at the Center Emergency Room.  Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center.  She was born January 17, 1938 to Earlie Harper and Ira Jim Rushing, in Center, Texas.  She was preceded in death by, Father; Mother; Sisters, Betty Ruth Lathan, Thelma Harper, Velma Harper, Lee Gail Rushing; Brothers, Leroy Rushing, R.C. Harper; Son, Prentice Ray Greer.  Survivors include, Long-time companion, Milton Fields of Center; Son, Donald Rushing of Houston; Step-son, Milton Brumley of Houston; Daughters, Vickie Rushing, Shirley Rucker, Pearly Harris, Lisa Carpenter (Eric) of Center, Terry Capiti (Tommy) of Nacogdoches, Allison Young (Arthur) of Yazoo, Mississippi; Step-daughters, Latasha and LaWanna Brumley of Houston; Brothers,

 Helen C. Hill Williams, 67, of Shelbyville, Texas, died January 27, 2023, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment  was in Rather Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born on August 26, 1955, to Isaiah Hill Jr. and Dorthy Thompson Hill.  Survivors include, Mother,  Dorthy Hill of Center; Brothers, Bobby Hill, I J Hill (Brenda), Michael (Cameica) Hill, Marcus Hill; Sisters, Charlette (David) Hill, Debra (Sugarman) Gardner, Angela Hill.

JIMMY DALE HAGLER
Jimmy Dale Hagler, 72, of Center, Texas, died January 27, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center.  He was born on December 30, 1950, in Center, Texas, to L. E. Hagler and Alice Wiggins Hagler.  He graduated from Center High School in 1969. You could find Jimmy for many years at H & S Grocery. He and Kathy co-owned and operated it with his brother Wayne Hagler until they retired in 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include, Wife, Kathy Hagler; Son, Heath Hagler & wife Collean; Brother, Wayne Hagler; Sister, Barbara Prince & husband Richard.

GIOVANNA MOONEY SEARCY
Giovanna (Givvie) Mooney Searcy, 89, of Pasadena, Texas, died January 28, 2023, in Webster, Texas. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  She was born on August 13, 1933, in San Augustine Texas to Lawrence Henry Mooney, Sr. and Lonita Mooney.  She graduated from Center High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, David Mooney, Lawrence Henry Mooney, Jr.  Survivors include, Son, James L. Searcy, Jr.; Daughter-in-law, Linda Searcy.

PORTIA PAYNE GAINES
Portia Payne Gaines, 92, of Center, Texas, died January 29, 2023.  She was born January 9, 1931 in Center, Texas to A. J. (Jimmie) Payne and Coy Dellinger Payne.  From 1951 to 1991, she was a beloved teacher in the Center Independent School District.  She continued teaching at Panola College as an adjunct professor until she was in her eighties. She was preceded in death by, Husband, W. L. (Bill) Gaines; Parents; Sisters, Gloria Dell Payne, Patricia Payne Brittain; Brother, James Allen Payne.  Survivors include, Daughter, Jeannie Gaines of Center.  Granddaughter, Emily Glass of Center.
Memorial Services will be held at The Methodist Church on Porter Street in Center, Texas on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10 am. Tim Verner and David Chadwick officiating.

SANDRA LYNETTE HINSON LATHAM
Sandra Lynette Hinson Latham, 73, of Center, Texas, died January 27, 2023. Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  She was born January 13, 1950, in Center, Texas to J.T. Hinson and Cleo Fountain Hinson.  She worked in the Center Public School District until she retired in 2009 but continued substituting until her health failed.  Survivors include, Husband, Tommy Latham; Child, DeShana Latham; Brother, Dr. Kenneth E. Hinson & wife, Elma Jones Hinson; Twin sister/cousin, Joyce Lynn Johnson.

LORINDA TAYLOR ARTHUR GREGORY
Lorinda Taylor Arthur Gregory, 80, of Joaquin, formerly of Lakeview, Ohio, died January 26, 2023, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  She was born September 27, 1942, to Frank and Marie Taylor.  She was preceded in death by, Dad, Frank Taylor; Mother, Marie Mattox Taylor; Three brothers.  Survivors include, Children, Lisa & Jesse Griffith, Mike Arthur, David Arthur, John Arthur; Sister of the heart, Jan Robbins.

SHELLIE JOE FOMBY
Shellie Joe Fomby, 84, of Vidor, Texas, died January 29, 2023 in Beaumont, Texas from complications of COVID. Interment was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born in Emmet Arkansas on March 2, 1938 to Shellie and Emma Fomby. He graduated from Center High School with his beloved class of 1956. In 1966 he began his banking career at Sabine Valley Savings and Loan as a bank teller then quickly was promoted to loan officer, appraiser, and vice president. He was also appointed to the board of directors.  He was an original founder of Shelby Savings Bank as President. Later he teamed up with Farmers State Bank where he retired after many years as Vice President.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Nell Fomby; Parents; Brother, Roy Fomby.  Survivors include, Wife, Mary Fomby; Daughters,
Angela Rowe & husband Robert, Beth Harbison & husband Ricky.
