The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting February 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. The meeting this month will be held at the Shelbyville Methodist Church. Our guest speaker this month will be Ms Merle Howard.  She will speak to us about the history of the church. Everyone is invited to attend.

Darrell Taylor, 84, of Timpson, died February 3, 2017, in San Augustine. Interment was in Powdrill Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born May 6, 1932, to Sam Taylor and Cecil Grant Taylor. She was born June 6, 1956 in Shelby County, Texas to James Harper and Neva Buckner Harper. She graduated from Joaquin High School in 1974.
