The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting February 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. The meeting this month will be held at the Shelbyville Methodist Church. Our guest speaker this month will be Ms Merle Howard.  She will speak to us about the history of the church. Everyone is invited to attend.

Laverl Johnson, 85, of Nacogdoches, Texas, formerly of Tatum, Texas, died February 08, 2017. Interment was in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born October 1, 1931, in Gary, Texas. to Burtis and Vergie Mae Johnson. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Matthew Johnson, Richard Johnson. Survivors include, Wife, JoAnn Bailey Johnson; Daughter, Debbie Crump & husband, Ronnie of Nacogdoches, Texas; Brothers, Allen Johnson, Lester Johnson, Cleon Johnson, Larry Johnson, Leland Johnson; Sister, Nelda Stevens.

Lesa Rene Hendricks Davis, 42, of Center, died February 13, 2017, in Tyler. Interment was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born July 26, 1974, in Shelby County, to Larry Hendricks and Beverly Griffin Hendricks.
