OBITUARIES

 

RONALD KEITH KAPER
Ronald “Ronnie” Keith Kaper, 88, of Joaquin, died February 10, 2023, at his home in Joaquin.  Interment was in Old Home Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born May 12, 1934, in Galveston, to August Kaper, Jr. and Inez Skillman Kaper.  He served his country in the Navy from 1957 to 1962, receiving several good conduct medals and achievement awards.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Pauline Kaper; Sons, Timothy Kaper, George Allen Goodwin; Daughter-in-law Sherry Kaper; Parents, August Kaper, Jr. and Inez Kaper.  Survivors include, Children, Randy Kaper & wife, Abbie, Scott Kaper, Pamela Cunningham, Georganne Palmer & husband, James.

DAVID GERALD BISHOP
David Gerald Bishop, 75, of Tyler, Texas, died February 16, 2023, in Tyler, Texas.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center.  He was born on November 7, 1947, in Ringgold, Louisiana, to Ray and Deryl Bishop of Castor, Louisiana. He was a graduate of the Joaquin High School class of 1965. He served in the US Navy from October 22, 1971, serving in the western Pacific Ocean abroad USS McKean (DD 784) and USS Truxton (DLGN 35) near Japan, Philippines, and Vietnam.  Survivors include, Sister, Susan & Neil Golden, Joaquin, Texas; Brother, Michael & Delois Bishop, Tyler, Texas.

HELEN LOUISE PETERMAN
Helen Louise Peterman, 88, of Center, Texas, died February 17, 2023, in Center, Texas.   Interment was in Lower Chireno Cemetery, Chireno, Texas.  She was born  December 14, 1934, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Isac and Etta Jane (Harris) Quinn.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Pastor Ike Quinn, Gerald Quinn; Sisters, Johnnie Sue Cameron; Virginia Jamison, Grace Stedham.  Survivors include, Husband, Adrian Peterman; Brothers, Lee “Shorty” Quinn, Jimmy Quinn; Sisters, Lou Marie Heath & husband Raymond.

PENNY ANN FOLSOM
Penny Ann Folsom, 64, of Huxley, Texas, died February 16, 2023, in Houston, Texas.  She was born on July 15, 1958, in Martinez, California, to Paul Defrates and Margaret Cox Defrates.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Daughter, Katie Folsom Dean. Survivors include, Son, David Rohrenback & wife Kenna; Daughter, Jenifer Williams & husband Gary “Sterlin”; Ex-husband, Gene Folsom; Special friend, John Wright; Brothers, David Defrates, Paul Defrates.

LOUIS WAYNE ADAMS
Louis Wayne Adams, 69, died February 11, 2023.  He has preceded in death by, Parents, J.W. Adams, and Wilma Adams; Grandparents, John B. and E.V. Adams. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Rusty, of 19 years, he was a loving father to his three children, Daniel Wayne and his wife Marie-Claude, Cassie Elizabeth and her husband Vernon, and Aaron Christopher and his wife Sapphire. He was survived by his sister Sheilah and her husband Bob Reeves.  He will also be deeply missed by his stepchildren Carey Marie, Scott Anthony, and Jennifer Charlene, and their spouses.  As a second-generation employee of AT&T for 48 years, Wayne started working part-time while still in High School in Center, Texas, trimming branches that grew near the telephone lines.  A Vigil Service for Wayne will be held on March 10, 2023, at 7:00 PM in Ted Dickey West Funeral Home 7990 President George Bush Tpke, Dallas, TX 75252. Mass will take place the following day March 11, 2023, at 11:30 AM in Prince of Peace Catholic Church 5100 W Plano Parkway, Plano, TX 75093.

OTIS CRIT CAMPBELL
Otis Crit Campbell, 81, of Shelbyville, died February 20, 2023 at home.  Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born & raised in Huxley, Texas to  Jim Fred Campbell and Callie (Furlow) Campbell.  He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School.  Crit married the late Bobbie Lynn English on April 10, 1959. Survivors include, Sons, Jimmy Campbell & wife Ellen of Lake Jackson, Lloyd Campbell & wife Pat of Danbury, Pete Campbell & wife Connie of Brackettville; Sister, Kay Ballard & husband Stan.
